So last night my wife complained that our one and only poster frame has been empty for the past 4 months.  She requested a poster.  This is a first.  So I had to go dig something up, took the first one that came, and it actually doesn't look too bad.

What is it?  It's not folded, and you don't like backed stuff...  But it looks like a backed French 1P...  :o

Nice poster BTW...

I HATE linenbacked posters, with a passion, but I got this one for so cheap I couldn't not buy it.  No restoration was done, it is in flawless condition.  Just backed.  I just didn't have the energy to go dig up some other crap from some drawers.  This one was just sitting there, so I grabbed it.

Interesting to hear about hating oinen-backed. If I had a choice of a nice poster in original condition or a nice poster linenbacked I would go for the original untouched.

With Thierry's vast collection, I think he could do a monthly rotation of French 1p's for years to come. Jpegs are nice, but it's so much cooler to see these old posters hanging in a modern living space. Really brings them alive!

Honestly Russ, I don't think there are more than a dozen posters I would consider putting up.  You've been to my house, so you know it's really not my style.

What do you mean? Just looking at the front page of your website, there are at least 10-15 that would look AWESOME--with Lolita being the obvious #1. Anything pre-1970 French is pretty eye-popping.

Of course, when you're married, you do have to come up with some more pleasant, mutually agreed-upon titles...But if you don't want to bother with a monthly rotation--break it up seasonally with a romance/comedy in the spring, a thriller in the summer, a monster movie for the fall, and a drama for the winter!

I'll give you your first four now...

LOLITA
LOVE WITH THE PROPER STRANGER (Valentine's Day)
FROM HERE TO ETERNITY (Summer)
HORROR OF DRACULA (Halloween)

Of course, when you're married...

This is KEY, buddy.  My wife recently gave me the hallway to display some posters.  I guess she liked Rope.  Everything else in the house is hers.  Which means --- absolutely no posters.

Btw Russ, good work on Meansheets.  It is still, by far, my favorite poster blog.

Looks great.  How about taking an up-close pic to show the optical illusion....
