Hello from Germany – Already fell into a "Bradburied" trap with 6 inserts

Hi everyone, from Germany.
I've been a silent reader here for a while, but now I'm joining the forum under rather unfortunate circumstances. I made a classic rookie mistake and need to share my story – and venting a bit might help, too.I recently bought 6 inserts on eBay. I was the only bidder and won the auction. Unfortunately, I realized too late that the seller is the notorious Bradburied.The items I won are:

Jaws Insert

Alien Insert

The Empire Strikes Back (GWTW) Insert

Return of the Jedi (Style B) Insert

Star Wars (Style A) Insert

Blade Runner Insert

As soon as I did my research and uncovered the name, I tried to cancel the order. Since I had already paid, I messaged the seller, but he ghosted me. I then contacted eBay customer support. Right after the eBay agent messaged him, the seller suddenly marked the items as "shipped." Now, I have to wait for the package to arrive so I can start the return and refund process.I honestly feel so naive. I fell for his 100% positive feedback, his 35 years of experience, and his story about a physical shop in Cleveland. I even asked him twice after bidding if they were 100% original, and he assured me they were. Looking closer at his descriptions now, I can already see the typical cropped edges of bootleg US inserts—something I didn't spot before. Looking deeper into his feedback history, I also found another buyer who complained about the exact same Alien insert. Ironically, others who bought Jaws inserts left positive reviews, likely because they have no idea they bought bootlegs.I am 100% sure I will receive 6 bootlegs. It blows my mind how eBay allows scammers like this to operate for years without any consequences.Looking forward to your thoughts and hoping to learn how to handle the eBay return smoothly once they arrive.

When the inserts arrive i will post pictures and i want my money back .I will report to ebay

Seems like that guy's had an endless supply of those for as long as I can remember - 14+ years at least. Maybe he's hoping you'll not bother with the return hassle. I think eBay will side with you, and allow you to return everything, as they seem to always help the buyers with issues like this.  It's a pain but at least you're covered under the eBay money back guarantee.

Normally ebay has to give me total amount o money back incl. shipping. I also paied 6 times shipment  and it comes in one roll.if only one poster is a bootleg (what will be 99,9%) ebay will normaly give me all the money back. Package shoudl come until 31st of august. for satey reasons i will also film the opening of the roll, in case he says he send originals and i made pictures of bootlegs.

That's smart to record opening the package.  I don't know if eBay would ever ask for a video for this order, maybe for a really expensive watch or something like that, especially to show if the box arrives empty or something really crazy, but it's best to be safe.

Today i got my delivery full of bootlegs. How can i load up the Pictures?

You can see clearly the "hair". Typicall Bootleg Minty white.

Last one us insert Return of the Jedi Style B: You have to take a close look the croppin is almost perfect. look at the ear of Lando Calrissian. this one and all other are on thinner cartone and shiny print.Bakc is minty white, with some brown throughprint

I'm sorry that he tried to sell you bootlegs. It's good that you have realised this and thanks for the photos, which may help other buyers in the future. Hopefully ebay will make the refund process easy for you!

Thanks for sharing the photos and the experience, Ved.  Incredible that the guy ghosted you, and sent you the package after you tried to cancel it, etc.  Good to hear you'll get a refund.  I wonder if eBay will ever block his account - he's been doing this for years with what seems like a huge supply of these.
