The Post Office has gone DRASTICALLY downhill the past few years especially NOW

I've had a few tubes via USPS that go into a black hole in Chicago - they sit there for weeks and weeks with no tracking update...but do come through eventually. I guess they must have a big backlog? Is it a short/mid term thing related to the pandemic? or is that just the way it is from now on with USPS?

ddilts399:
Chicago seems to be the worst, I am normally 1 day delivery from Chicago, 2 max.  I had a steelbook land in customs recently on 6/10 that didnt get delivered until 7/16.

I have gotten so many stories the past few months its hard to know what is actually factual.  Some tidbits... trucks of packages are sitting waiting for drivers, so you will see a scan at your local office and then no movement for days.  Packages that used to go via air to sort facilities are being trucked instead domestically which adds days to deliveries.  INTL packages are going via sea instead of air, and this seems to be luck of the draw when this is happening and first class vs priority INTL seems to make no difference.

Then there are just so many packages sitting on trucks at sort facilities they cant even get in the building to start with.

Dedouche removed a bunch of mail sorters, so there are less locations available to do the work, there are staff shortages everywhere, and they cut overtime for the existing staff they had.  Guy should be put in jail.  I dont see things getting better unless they oust Dejoy.

But, they should pay the claim based on the volume of packages sent, vs the number of claims filed, and the threat of losing that business.

I hope you are doing an appeal Bruce, and it sounds like it would be a fun court case to show how strong the tubes are and the physics it would take to crush one.

Or, perhaps 300 one day, 50 one day...  With pay and hold, my last box was around $50.  Let's cut that in half and say $25 times 20,000 packages = $500,000 to a small town local post office.  I know that money is shared around in the postal system, trucks etc.  Talking to our small town post office staff that means a lot!  Such a weird decision.  Appeal!  You're in the law business, eh Crow?  Will you represent?  Okie

Once had a huge billboard delivered (not from Bruce) and usps still managed to dent it despite it being super strong tube , thankfully poster unharmed

Yes, I was using an average - sorry if that wasn't apparent. I doubt that they average $25 per over those 20,000 packages, but regardless; yes it is a huge chunk of money to the local USPS and FedEx Ground, UPS, or another service would offer a very attractive rate to lure such business away.
And I would be happy to represent any business that runs as clean a ship as does Bruce.
