DekeThornton:
I picked up a couple José Guadalupe Posada items.  Just in time for Día de Muertos!

The first is an original broadsheet/broadside "La Calavera Oaxaqueña," from 1903. The calaveras of Posada make various satirical/political/social commentary.

I also got this poster from the first museum exhibition of Posada's artwork in Mexico City in 1943.  His images had been popular during his lifetime, but Posada died in 1913 in relative obscurity. This 1943 exhibition was instrumental in elevating him as a major figure in Mexican culture.

Just amazing to find this early Posada posters, Deke!  The 1903 is especially exciting to me.  Okie
