Basil Gogos - RIP
« on: September 30, 2017, 02:02:34 PM »
Artist, Basil Gogos, has passed away at age 88, on September 13th, in Manhattan.

A truly gifted and wonderful artist, I recall vividly my first encounters with his work were his wonderful covers that he did for Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine.

May he rest in peace.  :'(

As a longtime fan of the incredibly talented Basil Gogos, his death on September 14 hit me as hard as Bernie Wrightson's passing on March 18.
Been a bad year for the art of horror.

Sure enjoyed seeing Gogos when he was in Pensacola a couple of years ago.  He brought some rough sketches he had done a few years back.  What a great talent he was!
