As for Faulkner, seems others can incorrectly spell important people's names.  I made previous mention of a French panel for From Russia with Love spelling John Barry's name 'Jonh'.

Same here, Simes, unless of course, the snipe is smaller, unobtrusive or doesnt interfere with the original art in any way.

I always prefer snipes to be removed, especially if said poster is being restored.
The snipe in this case is clearly obtrusive and should be removed - even if the piece is not being restored.
