Ok not necessarily just movie posters, but what's your OLDEST poster?

Not sure the exact date, but very similar vintage to yours -- probably late 1890s/early 1900s.

Beautiful, both, Wim. And that mummy poster has always been one that talks to me 'loudly!'  thumbsup.gif

Beautiful Belgian, too. WOW! Great art on it.

I saw on your blog, too, that you cant find anything out about this title or the production company. How did you determine this was a movie from 1911? The poster is great! clap clap

Good question, it's part of a collection all of titles from around 1912 as you will have read. So I presume this is also 1912 (or 1911 or 1913). However I still haven't found anything on the title, so I am not really sure.
Here's a blogpost on a poster I'm sure is from 1913 or (1912) :) http://www.hazardousoperations.com/movie-ink_wp/2012/10/25/whats-in-a-name-the-case-of-tweedledum-studies-mathematics/

I think I paid 300 or 400 euros for The Mummy, so I guess it's current value is that. I haven't seen another one yet.

Wim,

I was looking thru this list of Napoleon-themed films, too, on wiki, to see maybe if the title had been altered or shortened. So far, nada, too. But this is what makes the hobby so fun. Uncovering the info (or trying to) about mystery posters.

I guess another way, would be to compare art styles to other belgians, that are known from those early years, or to try and learn when the lithographer, named on the poster, was in operation. Amazing, too, that the production company is not found anywhere online. That is a real mystery, too.

Are we not pure? “No, sir!” Panama’s moody Noriega brags. “It is garbage!” Irony dooms a man—a prisoner up to new era.
