These are some of my favorites

Unbearable Lightness of Being B1,I really like the effect of reflection made by the mirror on the floor.

In the realm of senses B1.Year 2000 re-released in Japan. This Nagisa Ôshima movie is still unable to show in its entirety in Japan, the re-release version have shown a lot more. This poster is on very thick paper stock with sort of a Mylar effect.

Naked Lunch B2.This image is unique and creepy.Illustrated by Japanese famous Fantasy Art artist Hajime Sorayama.

I like, too, how your Naked Lunch poster has that block of English text at the top, combined with the Japanese title.

And that art is fantastic!

Speaking of Cronenberg.
SPIDER is probably the rarest Japanese poster for one of his films.
The only copy I ever came accross ended up in my collection.

I regret not buying one when I saw it.  I intended to, but got busy with other stuff and missed out.  It is an awesome poster.

My understanding is that it's one of two styles of B2s from the 1962 re-release -- 1) this art style and 2) a B2 done in a similar style to the R62 STB.

Thanks Matt!  I had seen both the STB and the B2 of that STB style.  The one I posted I saw on auction for $450.00 ... my newbie radar went "oh, if it's an original that's not bad" but a re-release ....

Hey Devin.. cool find. What do you think of the art/renditions of Bogie and Bergman on this poster?

Nicely done art, but I think that Bergman looks much older than she was in Casa and Bogart just looks a bit "off" in likeness. Tho it has been done with other RR posters, too. One that comes to mind were RR posters for The Wizard of Oz, using images of Judy Garland when she was more grown up.

Bogie I think looks a bit "tougher/rougher" than in the movie but Bergman seems to have taken on a "homemaker" likeness... which I don't think fits .... at all.  What I kind of like is Bergman's head is the strong right position kind of overlooking Bogie...

With a few added years, dont you think?

Here's a side by side compare, for fun.  :D

Wow, I just saw this poster thread today too. The Spider poster is awesome!

As a fellow appreciator of Cronenberg, I like the similarities between the Spider poster and the Naked Lunch poster.

Dead Ringers may be my favorite Cronenberg movie. It's just too bad most of the posters for that one are so plain.

Hey guys!

I found a peculiar poster in YJA! See this link: http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/m174173103

Do you know what kind of poster could this one be?

Do you know if it's a movie poster? Or is it a complete mystery?

Edit: I do see another pic shows it to be a Studio Ghibli animation film poster. Question is.. what size is it?
