no idea what he is controlling, but I think he is good at it.

the other is a Peking Opera Movie poster I believe. or rather a scene from a peking opera film. Used to promote pride or something.

This sold on ebay for $228 yesterday (1 bid only).  My dad had to shave his stache in the 80s because people kept saying he looked exactly like SH.

This is one of mine - US WWII poster by Australian born Melbourne Brindle from 1942.  Does not mince words!

In the years before the Iraq war, British expats living there used to refer to Saddam by the nickname 'Keith'. Sadly I don't have it now, but there was an article all about this which showed a gigantic popular poster of the time; this featured a huge close -up of the man himself, beaming joyously upon his countrymen. This was pasted up all over the city and was popularly referred to as 'Keith and his new teeth'.

Cool poster, but the sailor's proportions look whacked.
Maybe its just me, but shouldn't he have longer legs... or shorter arms... or both?

Yeah, his arms look as long as his legs, and one leg is shorter than the oath. The broad next to him is particularly ugly

Great looking poster. Somehow it has a Germanish look,  do you know the bidder?

No idea who the bidder is, but if he's willing to pay for shipping a massive framed piece like that I imagine he's not too far... probably Ohio.  And as for his arms being longer than his arms... damn you my arms are also longer than my legs  :'(

It is one badass Mexican poster.  They can be quite dramatic those latinos!

For fellow poster collectors: a few pages of posters on display during the war (mainly american).  I've posted a couple of my favorite images (the last one being the subject of an auction I had previously shared in this very thread), but make sure you check out the link so you can see them all including the captions.  Amazing how some of these turn up all over the world.

Wladyslaw T. Benda wasn't particularly known for his 'propaganda' posters, but of all his works, this is one of my favorites
