May 2015

Can't believe I've started 3 months in a row....

Anyway, I've just rescued these 2, they are from the 40's, they turned up today, and are currently getting a gentile flattening...

Three's a charm, as they say, Paul!

And what a great way to start the month! Those are both just beautiful!

And they look to be getting the patented Waines Flattening Treatment™, too!

This arrived in my hot little hands today.  It's no one sheet, but it will look plenty nice on the wall.

It's 8 foot Jeff, maybe just over. It's actually 3d-ish, but difficult to see in the pic.

Did you get the sticker with the  Chappie standee? I saw it in my local Googleplex and it looked great. I think I even took a picture of it. Very nice.

Sweet baby Xenu, that Chappie is magnificent.  Divorce fodder, but magnificent!

Finally got around to uploading a few of my own.  Swedish poster for the 'Swedish Mary Pickford,' Sie Holmquist in '24's Just Around the Corner:

And another Swedish for everybody's favorite dog chow, Marie Prevost in Daughters of Pleasure:

Nice pickups Peter!  Did they come from the eBay seller auctioning off many Swedish posters from the 30s?

Strictly speaking, these aren't new acquisitions.  But today I did finally open up and photograph some EMP bulk lots from a while ago.  I have such a love/hate relationship with Bruce's bulk lots.  I've found a few diamonds in the rough, but now I also have a huge batch of offensively ugly posters that I couldn't hope to sell, but don't have the heart to discard.  First world problems  eyeroll

Anyway, here are some of the good ones.

Algo Flota Sobre el Agua, by Jose Espert (1948).  I earlier posted a Mexican window card I have with the same artwork.

El Hombre sin Rostro, by Josep Renau (1950)

And here is my favorite May acquisition (so far).  Sadly, the missus vetoed my idea to put this one up on the wall.

La Carne Manda (1948)
