Chameleon Restoration NY - Anyone used them...?

Over here in Australia there is hardly anyone that offers linen backing services let alone
poster restoration.

I recommended this husband and wife team from Brooklyn, NY and told that they did
great work and were reasonably priced.

Their "befores and afters" look good from their pics, Christian.

Have you been in touch with them at all, at this point?

I haven't been in touch with them as yet as the
poster I am looking to have restored is not in
my possession at the moment.

I agree, their before and after shots look very
good so I will no doubt send them pics of what
I have and see what they say.

I gather no one here has used them before.

They have to be doing something right if they are still in business 13 years later.

I had been concerned that perhaps they were no longer in business given the 2002 date on their website (this is seen a lot) but they were at least still functioning in 2012 and address/business name seems valid as per Google

Personally I am always reluctant to use a restorer without a fellow collector having broken that ground first

The guy who recommended them to me is a poster restorer / linen backer based in Sydney who had worked for Chisholm Larsson Gallery in NY
for quite a few years, so I trust him and know that he has used this company before. I was more just asking for further feedback as to whether
anyone on this site had heard of them or engaged their services.

I am looking to have another 6 or so posters come in in the next 2 weeks so will no doubt contact them about one in particular
that has quite a lot of damage, but due to its extreme rarity I wish to have it restored.

For the heck of it, I sent them an email on Thursday of last week, asking them if they are still in the same location, commenting on their before and after images and if their prices are current. As of today, I have yet to hear back from them, in any way shape or form.

I havent tried dialing, tho, to see if the phone # was still good or not.

No email today again, too, Christian. Tho the email went thru (so it seems) on Thurs and has not bounced back (so far).
