Here is another recent addition which I believe is being sent to me from the Netherlands this week, so hopefully
I have it in hand fairly soon.

A pro-German Dutch poster from 1940.

Poster by Siegfried - Duitschland wint den slag op den Atlantischen Oceaan

Germany wins the battle on the Atlantic Ocean

SIZE = 89cm x 120.5cm

Using dealers image as I do not have it in hand as yet.

Another nice pickup there, Christian.  thumbsup.gif

How many posters in total and of this genre make up your collection, so far?

Thanks Jeff,

To be honest it has been a while since I counted them as I have been far too busy, although I think
it is over 60 period propaganda / recruitment posters that I have now. I will have to do a proper count
in the next few days to make sure as I have sold one or two that I did not want to keep.

This is another recent purchase, although I did not list it here as I currently have it for sale.

It is a rare recruitment poster for the Panzer Grenadier Division - Feldherrnhalle.

http://www.axishistory.com/axis-nations/150-germany-heer/heer-divisionen/4142-panzergrenadier-division-feldherrnhalle

SIZE = 29.5 x 41cm

The last one of these I saw sell at auction several years ago went for over $2500 USD.

Some information about the artist;

Von Axster Heudtlass was a well known husband and wife team who produced many works during the Third Reich as well as in the early postwar period.

The 3/4 profile of stern looking young men sure seemed to be a common theme for many of the posters of that era, wouldnt you say, Christian?

A strong looking poster, for sure.

As well as your info about the artists being a husband and wife team.

Hi Jeff,

It depends on the artist as they all had their own particular preference and sometimes the styling changed
over the course of the pre-war / war period.

Hans Schweitzer (Mjölnir), did side profile as well as 3/4 profile across many of his works.

I have added more to the collection over the past few months so I will try and find time to
post them here shortly.

I have had more new additions these past few months although here are by far the two
most important ones for me.

First up, a very rare Flemish SS recruitment poster of which I only know of a handful that exist.

It has been on my want list for some time and I was lucky enough to add this one to the collection.

SIZE = 65 x 100cm

This next poster is also a seldom seen Flemish SS recruitment poster.

Not as rare as the first one I posted, although still very sought after.

SIZE = 79 x 124cm

Some further additions to the collection that were added in the latter part of last year.

These first 3 posters are all pro-German from France. (Note: the images are small as they were from the sales listings online and
I have not had a chance to take photos of these ones myself).

Chaque heure de travail en Allemagne c'est une pierre apportée au rempart qui protège la France. 1944.
Every hour of work in Germany is a stone brought to the rampart that protects France. 1944.

This next one trying to recruit Belgians to go and work in Germany.

This one is by a well known Belgian/Flemish artist, Frans Van Immerseel who also
joined the Flemish Legion / Waffen SS during the war. (see the two Flemish posters
I put up a few posts back).

I am also looking to sell this one and will have it in the sale section shortly as well
as being listed elsewhere.

SIZE = 86 x 126cm

This next one is Dutch and the second of the two sinking ship themed posters by the artist Siegfried.

I now have both in my collection, the other one is several posts back although for comparison I will put it to the right for comparison.

SIZE = 89 x 120cm

I have just realised today that the image hosting site I had been using has had to change domain names
unexpectedly and many of the images I had posted in this thread have disappeared...  :-\

Not sure whether I can work with Jeff to have the missing images uploaded again to maintain this sequence
of this thread....?!?!? It would be shame to have to skim through 13 pages of text before many of the posters
can be seen.

Alternatively, is there a better image hosting site that would be more stable?

Cheers,

Christian, I can help refill the "holes" in your thread here.

All I would need is the new hosted pic URL, and what message it goes into.

Keep me posted, or send me a PM with the info. ;)
