Many thanks Jeff... Yes it was a hard one to find and I ended up paying a premium for
it, although now that I have it in hand I am just blown away by the quality and have no
regrets whatsoever.

The signature is very hard to see from my initial photo as it was taken with a flash and
the fold have added to the shaded areas...

I have highlighted a corner using photoshop that shows the artists sig - boccasile.

Thanks for that C/U shot of the name, Christian.  thumbsup.gif

He did two other SS posters which are also very rare.

This first one I missed out on last year as another collector offered more $$$ than I did.

This is his other SS poster design.

He did many others during the war and of course advertising posters after the war too!

This is another great one he did for the Decima Mas, an Italian commando unit.

Those are great, Christian.  thumbsup.gif

That artist certainly was able to present the imagery and convey an essence of the force of a soldier. Almost like saying visually, that they were not a force to be reckoned with.

A very rare poster this one.

One of three Italian SS Posters done by the well known artist / poster designer, Gino Boccasile.

I had the opportunity to purchase one of his other ones last year although another collector beat
me to it, I was not going to make the same mistake again.

This is another one I will look to eventually have linen backed.

Magnificent. This  is an excellent example of propaganda at its best. The tagline is so over the top.

And look at his boots.

My grandfather fought in the Spanish Civil war he always said the Italians had the best boots. They were really tough to fight off.

Many thanks for your nice comments....  :)

Well nice boots are one thing, fighting quality is another... The Italians did not have the best reputation as
far as fighting was concerned. There were definitely some good units in the Italian forces, although most of them
were routinely given a spanking in most of the engagements they were in that did not involve German forces.

There was a saying "Do you want to buy an Italian rifle, it has never been fired and only dropped once"... ;)

Hey, the Italians plenty of successes. Abyssinia, Albania, and ... OK maybe you have a point :)

Some new arrivals over the past few months...

This super rare beauty by Gino Boccasile only arrived yesterday...!

This is the same one I missed out on last year and I was able to
buy it this time around thankfully.

I now have two of the three SS related posters that Gino Boccasile did.

A real coup for me as I have never seen another of these for sale...

In great condition albeit folded....

Is there a meaning to the odd (to me) hand gesture he is making?

Cool poster by the way!

Or perhaps it's an early Italian ancestor of the modern-day "shocker"?

A French poster for the LVF.

The LVF was the acronym for Légion des volontaires français / Legion of French Volunteers (Against Bolshevism).

It was a collaborationist French unit that served on the Eastern front, fighting the Russki's.

This poster was won at auction last year but the buyer could not come through with the money for this and about
20 other items he had won, so it was offered to me...

Many thanks Jeff and to the other replies...

Here is another new acquisition that arrived in the
past few weeks.

A real beauty by Mjölnir...!!!

A large two sheet poster - 166 x 115 cm

Mit unseren Fahnen ist der Sieg!

With out flag(s) is the Victory!

(apologies for some of the average photos of the posters
as I am either using the dealers / sellers image or a hastily
taken photo of my own... some images are great and others
not so good.).

This is the most recently arrival
and I opened it up just last night.

It has to be the most minty original
poster of the period I have ever seen.

There is not one blemish or crease
on the paper, but as it is a smaller
size poster I gather it had a better
chance of avoiding damage if stored
correctly all these years.

It is another of the iconic propaganda
posters that I just had to have.

It was a lucky buy as the dealer had
said it was already sold, only for him
to contact me a week later saying that
the buyer had not paid and that if I was
still interested it was mine...  thumbsup.gif

Definitely a late war slogan!

Sieg um Jeden Preis

Victory at any cost!

Not an east poster to find and one I have
been after for some time and was lucky to buy!

By the same artist that did the Orange coloured
Dutch Waffen-SS poster on page 7 as well as the
10th one down from the top on my very first post
in this thread. Always signed with an 'S' so I have
no idea who the artist was nor do any of my
collection colleagues.

Dutch 'NEDERLANDERS' recruitment poster for
the WAFFEN SS.

Fantastic, Christian!  thumbsup.gif

Who is the artist on this one? It looks something like Ahrle?

I edited the above as it was meant to read "WITH OUR FLAG" and not "WITH OUT FLAG".... eyeroll

That is interesting to see a reproduction in a post-war Italian film.... Nice shot, thanks for posting...

I have seen many reproductions of the posters I have in classic war films...

Of more interest to me is finding period images of the posters in use... I have quite a database
so far although I am always on the lookout for more. Mostly B&W of course, but on the odd occasion
I hit the jackpot and find colour images.

Christian, could you post a couple of these photos, showing the actual posters hung on buildings, displayed etc? Would be great to see a few.
