Agreed,

Just take my name out of the thread title, less confusion that way.

Will do, Christian.  ;)

A new arrival....

Another stunning work by Mjölnir...!

"Front und Heimat die Garanten des Sieges"

"The Frontline and the Home Country Are the Guarantors for Victory"

This is the sellers image I am using,
I have this one in a tube at the moment
amongst about 30+ others due to limited
space.

The newest addition...

This one took 15 weeks to arrive from the date the seller posted it
so god only knows where the heck it has been in the meantime.
It seems the postal network the world over has gone downhill....

I had given it up as lost until it arrived yesterday... Thankfully in one piece.

So wie wir kämpfen Arbeite du für den sieg!

Good lord! The most I've had to wait is two weeks for a supposedly three day delivery. And I felt every second of the additional eleven days...

Christian, yet another powerful find, telling one to work for "the cause."

And 15 weeks!! OMG, I would have thought that parcel had B-lined to inner Mongolia at that point, being carried on the back of a llama. Glad to hear that it finally got to you.  thumbsup.gif

Was there anything on the parcel (additional marks, stamps or writing, as an example) that might have suggested it got diverted or lost, for a time?

Many thanks Jeff.... thumbup

Yes it was a big relief to see it arrive after all this time.

It may well have come via Mongolia judging by the condition
of the poster tube... Both ends were caved in and the tube
itself had been crushed and bent...

Thankfully the poster was not seriously damaged other
than maybe a crease here and there.

There were no stamps or markings other than a sticker
from Australian customs stating that they had received
the tube in that condition and that they had done their
best to repair it so that it could continue on its way to me.

Bit of a botched job on the repair if you ask me, if you call
a bit of tape 'repair work'.... eyeroll

Just happy to have it safely at home...

must have been sent surface mail.
Where did it originate from? Australia?

Sounds like typical, crappy "repair" work from the postal carrier, Christian.

Seems no country is immune to bad handling and idiots working for the respective postal services.  :-\

Glad to hear, tho, that the poster was not much worse for wear and that it got to you safely and in one piece.

The poster was sent from Hannover, Germany to Melbourne, Australia.

Usually takes no more than a week and a half to two weeks tops for
packages from Europe....

Oh sorry, didn't realise you were in Oz.
It would have been surface mail.
Ive had many from Europe take a few months.,  and comes via BOAT in whatever roundabout way they can make it work.

Your right on there Jeff... Nobody in the postal service seems to give a damn about
taking care with parcels these days... I dare say if you put a fragile sticker on a parcel
they would go out of their way to kick it around.

I know that there was a postal strike over in Germany just prior to my poster being sent,
although I know other collectors that still received items well before me. Mine must have
been stuck in a depot somewhere all these weeks just gathering dust...

I didn't think it would be surface mail as the shipping cost 42 euro....

Picked this one up in an online auction in Germany over the weekend.

A nice airbrushed design that I couldn't resist.

Simply outstanding, and once again, such a powerful image of that dark time.

Congrats, Christian.  thumbup

Very nice. I also saw that one come up for sale in Berlin and was almost, almost  tempted Christian. Alas I fear that we might be 'bumping' into each other in auction very soon! But once I have a couple of good ones under my belt, I shall almost certainly be leaving the field clear for you...

Much appreciated guys...

It was one I really wanted as I lived in Heidelberg for 18 months in the early 2000's
and really liked this piece with the old ruined castle in the background.

From the description this one has a cardboard backing which is not ideal,
although you have take them as they come when they are this old.

Cheers.  cheers

Haha, well I would not have gone for this one had it not been for the Heidelberg
connection which swayed me.

This one was on the cheaper end of the spectrum, only 260 euro after starting
price of 200 euro.

Someone else counterbid me twice but they lost interest pretty quickly.
