Great stuff! Really glad you tackled the wacky La Casa series of posters, they've intrigued me for quite some time. I really like them especially because of how weirdly skewed they depict the movies with them, moreso for the Evil Deads. Love the Zombie Thai as well, I really want to get one but can't really dish that much cash out for a poster at the moment...some day.

Man, 4 posts in one day? That's my kind of shock-a-rama poster show!  happy1

With the close of escrow on my house sale coming either late this week or early next week, I thought I'd do a mini-salute to real estate in movie posters!

I'm not going to jinx it with an early CONGRATS so I will stand down for now....... ;) but hopefully you have some good news to share soon! by the way MAGG how do you file/find your posters? Have I ever asked you that?  Do you know how many you have?

The other day, I had a post with a lot of things geared towards Mister e. Today's post will have a special nod towards Jeff. See if you can spot it.

Crazy Vick...thanks for the non-jinxed (hopefully) early congrats. My fingers are crossed all goes through. I've been poster shopping as if it were going through--EEEK!  so NOT cool of me. I'm on pins and needles...  it could be tomorrow or Monday or...it could fall through at the last second. I had one more document sent to me that i had to sign and return today. Yikes!  As for my storage/cataloging of my posters or how many i have...that is a mystery. I am still in my "shack-o-rama", a "temporary" place I went to with all of my stuff when i went back to school. I had 2 houses...one a rental (that's the one i am selling) and the one I lived in (which is rented out)...but, while in school. i was forced to quite my job and had no income. I have massive debt from my school years (and poster addiction). The house sale will wipe out the credit card debt. My poster shopping I hope to curtail by limiting myself to a  list of posters in 2016. I hope it works.

This is the LAST winter I want to spend in this dump (no heat and I get all of this smoke from the chimney next door, etc). I'm hoping to move to the Bay Area (if I can land a nursing job) and eventually sell my other house/buy a new place in Washington on Whidbey Island near where my mom moved to. That I'd rent out as a vacation place (so i could have a place to stay when i visited--yet still have income coming in to help with the mortgage) while earning money in the Bay Area until i retire (or die). BUT--until i am out of the hole i am in--there's no way to count/record exactly what posters i have (which is why i love posting on here---to see what i have), etc. Everything sent to me in a tube remains in the tube. Flat/folded stuff is just put in a box...and i have a lot of boxes and tubes!  ARGH!

Rosa, glad you also found the tale of my grandmother's strange movie mistake amusing. I'm still baffled by it.  AND, just for you, i ordered THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE earlier today.

Ari I leave the Django mystery up to you. That is a HUGE mess to untangle. I bought the CARRIE novel "for my mom" for Christmas one year--so i could read it after she was done. My copy had the US poster photo on the cover---glamour Carrie and bloody Carrie. Creepy!

Ted and Gingerman....uh, thanks. I still need to get a LA CASA 6 2F (but after that, i think i'll try to stick to 1 F...if i can find any. Yowza! The Italian posters are just huge...like the g r a n d e s from France that Thierry despises.). And Ted, your comment on the CARRIE poster (glad you groove on the poster, by the way)...  You said "God help the next exploitation fan who stands in your path, 'cause you are a true movie monster." Well, I've already accidentally outbid and bought several things out from under Gingerman's grasp!  OOPS!  I feel bad about it and have told him so. (And i've also told him that, for Christmas, i'll tell him some of my not-so-secret "secret spots" to shop!) Ha! How astute of you to see that coming. I may be a monster, but at least I'm a gentleman about it.

Neo...You snuck in at the last moment! Yes, i dig the poster. I am such a fan of the JAWS ripoffs...no matter how bad they are. And the posters are usually FAB. Thanks!

Okay...here's another batch ( a rather hodge-podge-y batch):

THE GREEN SLIME (Spanish):

I have/love the US one sheet (had a stained one for years...another of my earliest posters. Sold that off a while back and finally got a replacement this year). I stumbled on thios Spanish version--which is completely different. it was cheap, so i snapped it up!

THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN (French p e t i t e):

Cool monster art--sure is better than the US poster. Another bargain i couldn't pass up.

NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES (Spanish):

I had no idea what this was until I googled it a few minutes ago. I just liked the art. Very creative poster...for such a schlocky movie. I wonder if i had known what this poster was for if i would have bothered. Hmm.

THE LADY HAS BEEN RAPED (Italian):

I had no idea what this was when i picked it up either. I thought maybe it was some silly supernatural sex comedy (based on the devil guy's facial expression, OK finger gesture and obviously phallic tail. I really couldn't tell by the woman's expression if she were terrified or just surprised). OOPS!  i apologize to Rosa now if she is offended by it. I just googled the title as well. IMDB had virtually NO information about it. It was another cheap-O.

THE HOWLING (Spanish):  Very different poster art for this Spanish release. The face doesn't look like a werewolf, but then it doesn't really look like anything--just creepy.

THE HOWLING II (Italian): After finding the Spanish HOWLING above, i couldn't believe my luck when i stumbled on this cool Italian HOWLING 2 poster. The movie is crappy...and normally (because I didn't like the film), i'd pass on the poster. But JEFF had one a while back. The more i looked at it, the more i saw how cool it really is -- regardless of the movie it represents. (Just like my NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES poster above)  Thanks for the inspiration, Jeff!

SWAMP OF THE RAVENS (Spanish):

I actually saw this movie not too long ago. It wasn't great, but the DVD cover was cool. Lo and behold...the cover was the movie poster! I don't know if there is an English poster for this or not--I've never seen one. I know I saw one ofd these go at auction not too long ago. i was watching it---but stopped when it went higher than i was willing to pay for it (which wasn't much. Ha!). This one was also a cheap-o.  Although the artwork is kind of primitive, i dig it--the woman wading through the swamp fild with corpses and body parts while the ravens caw away from above.

CRASH OF FLIGHT 401 (Spanish):

This is yet another case of a US TV movie getting theatrical play overseas. Ha! This movie is based on a true story about a flight that crashed in the swamps in Florida just after takeoff. i wish it would be released on DVD. I like my disaster flicks. I'm just sorry this is based on a real incident.

CRASH OF FLIGHT 401 (aka S.O.S. MIAMI AIRPORT) (Italian):

Here is the same movie as above...yet the Italian version saddled with a different  title (in English!), "S.O.S. Miami Airport"!  of the two, i think i like this poster better.

RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD (Thai):

Here's my fave-o-rite poster o' the bunch...the awesome Thai version of "RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD"!   Oooo i needed one of these.  Just gorgeous!

Okay--that's enough for now. I'm hungry and freezing (remember--i have NO HEAT!  Brrr...)

Have a groovy rest of the day.

CHEERS!

As I said, i thought it was some silly supernatural sex comedy (I do NOT read Italian). I looked it up and it IS apparently a sex comedy. It's about a woman who is convinced her husband is possessed by the devil and feels violated if he (possessed by the devil) touches her. By the end of the movie, she realizes it's all in her head...and that her analyst is the one who put the idea there. (At least that is what i understood from the translated web page i found the description on). So, apparently, the worst thing about it is the title (well, the whole film sounds forgettable, but...)

I apologize again if it bothered you.

Whidbey Island!!!!!

I adore this area. I spent around 10/11 months working in Mukilteo/Everett area for Boeing. If my memory serves me, the dock for the island is at the northern end of the Mukilteo speedway!!!!   I stayed in a nice little place not too far from the beach. I was there in 2009/10. The salmon spawned in 09, superb fishing!!!

Give this link a moment to load, but this is Boeing's 787 unit 9998 Fatigue unit. This is the tool they are using to test the fatigue life of the aircraft.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Boeing+Everett+Factory,+Everett,+WA+98203/@47.9346691,-122.282607,222m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x549001133b2ceee9:0x443d19a2005857c8

To the left is the runway they used for the first test flight of the 787. I was there when it flew for the first time!!!!  To the right of the runway running up and down there are 11 aircraft. These are all mostly 787......the early stages of this program was a horrible failure. These aircraft will most likely be scrapped, as the rework and paperwork would out weigh the cost at current state. If you zoom in a little bit you will see the bridge that goes over the highway. Connecting the Boeing main plant to the airfield. Imagine driving down the highway at the moment they are moving an aircraft across the bridge. You can see some of the larger aircraft are enormous. The 747, even with the canted wings, tip to tip is just under the length of a football field.

How crazy that our lives have almost a six degrees of Kevin Bacon...er, BOEING thing going on.

Hi there. I have nothing new to share at the moment. I'm just here because this is my 500th comment on the boards. I want to see if my star count changes or maybe my status changes. Probably won't happen until my 1,000th comment (5,000th?), but I thought I'd see any way. Whoo hoo!

Also, not that it's all that exciting, but here is a link to the online interview with me I did with/for Amanda sheriff to help promote a new book, The overstreet Guide to Collecting Movie Posters (which I've purchased and like. It was only $15 plus postage. Good deal! Jeff is actually included in the book. Someone else from here is too apparently, but not sure who. I'm not in it--no big deal--but I was happy to do the interview any way).

I like how it turned out okay except I noticed that in the body of the text, all of the extraneous information i added that was bracketed off with parentheses "()" is now separated with commas...which makes it confusing in a few instances. Oh well.

But how exciting, huh? (Ha!  Whatever...)  Here's the link in case you didn't see it on the other thread:

You can click on the pictures of the posters on the right to make them bigger.

Believe it or not, but I was going to throw in some Thais. Then i went back and double checked your interview...and guess what? The Thais you used were the same Thais I was going to use. Of course! Ha! So i went ahead and used all US one sheets. That's what i had the most decent photos of anyway.

But thanks!
