Hello every one. I am B-A-C-K as promised. Just for now. I'm taking off again and won't be back until around December 1st or so.

Anyway... Jeepers! What went on around here? Ari and Steve??? Oh my STARS! Congratulations, i guess-- I just hope you didn't go ahead and consummate the wedding on my page as well... Or if you did, i HOPE you cleaned up after yourselves and didn't leave me the dirty sheets to clean up afterwards. Eeew!  Where are you registered, by the way?

Jeff--No, you are right. i can't resist the pull of APF. I thought about waiting until the December 1st-ish return date I had established, but also said I might be back if I had time late this week., Well, I have the time...and some new posters (argh!) and so here I am. Who is my daddy? Uh oh...are you trying to tell me something?

Ted--I am super glad you like the poster. Thanks!  Now i want to track down the film...

Gingerman, I bid at emovie again the other day...and despite what happened between you and I the other day (which i still feel awful about) and my long running fear that situation would come up eventually, i realized when the auction was over that I did NOT even bother to look and see who was bidding against me the entire time. I just HOPE it was no one on here. ARGH!

Ari, Steve, and Rosa...thanks for stopping by as always.

Okay, i am actually anxious to go back to my hiatus from APF, so i'll make this post of 10 posters as short and sweet as possible (unless I get to running off at the mouth fingers again).

INLAND EMPIRE (French):

Zowie!  I had completely forgotten i had gotten this poster...until I opened it. I love DAVID LYNCH, and even though INLAND EMPIRE was not nearly as incredible as MULHOLLAND DR., I liked it. I also have been wanting the poster. i know the film only had a limited US release and the US posters are hard to come by...so i had to settle (so far) for a French one. Ooo la la!

SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE (British Quad Teaser):

Here is my OOPS for the week. A little while back in the New Acquisitions thread, someone poster a quad for the new film SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. It was a cool poster--real "art" as opposed to some photoshopped crap-a-rama. I liked it and wanted it (especially since it was so much nicer than the stupid US version (with the Swiss Army knife). I looked and looked and found 3 available. The quad the other APF member had, the one sheet with the same art, and this advance quad with a different ad altogether. I bid on all three, not expecting to get any...and, uh, um...I ended up getting all three. OOPS.

SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE (British Quad):

This is like the one the other APF member got/shared. Very nice--and as i said, much better than the US version.

SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE (British One Sheet):

Here's the British one sheet version. I did see the movie, by the way. It was amusing.

SCOOBY DOO (British Quad):

While looking for the SCOUTS GUIDE posters, i stumbled on this British quad for the live-action SCOOBY DOO movie. Very different again from the US version. As a SCOOBY DOO fan I had to get it. SOLD!

PIRANHA 2: THE SPAWNING

I already had the alternate PIRANHA 2 poster (with the alternate subtitle "FLYING KILLERS"), but have always kind of wanted this one as well. I had been seeing one lately here and there with just the title "The Spawning" (No "Piranha 2"). Nope--that would not do. So when I stumbled on this one...SOLD!

FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2 (Turkish):

I got a couple of the FRIDAY THE 13TH sequel posters from Turkey not too long ago. I'd seen this one from time to time and thought I'd go for one if/when I ever saw one cheap enough. Yahoo!  I did and snagged it. I do think it's weird that even though the cast listy and the image are clearly from PART 2, the English version of the title makes it look like it is Part 1. I wonder if Part 1 was released in Turkey...and what it was called. Something I'll have to look into someday...Might want to track down ALL of the sequels from Turkey eventually. Why not?

YOUNG HANNAH QUEEN OF THE VAMPIRES

This is NOT my poster---just an example from the internet. Mine is a tri-fold (which this one was also at one time...before someone decided to attempt a bad vertical fold on their own). This is a re-titling of something else (CRYPT OF...something. I forget). This poster was a freebie poster included with a poster I bought from a dealer. Cool beans. i've seen this poster around and kind of dug it...just not enough to pay for one. Now i don't have to. Yippie!

SPECTRE

Ah yes...FINALLY!  A real live "SPECTRE" poster that did NOT cost me $75 or $100 or whatever crazy amount people are (stupidly) buying them for. I love my Bond. Now i am caught up on ALL of the Bond posters I want/need with the exception of one double feature combo poster from way back when. I saw the movie earlier this week. LOVED IT!  It wasn't as good as SKYFALL, but it was still very good.

LA CASA DELGI ZOMBI (Italian):

Tenth and final poster-a-go-go for the evening is some Italian zombie movie I've never heard of (well, i probably HAVE heard of it, but I just have not gotten around to researching it fully to see what it was called when it arrived over here). WOW!  i saw the graphics of the zombie eating the woman and the other zombies rushing in and had to get it. Despite the unfortunate missing piece from the bottom boarder, i grabbed this while it was available. I had never seen this poster/image before. Groovy!

(Oh man... i just noticed there is tape all over it too. Waaagh!)

And that's all of the time we have for today, kiddies!  Thanks for stopping by. Have a fabulous Thanksgiving. i'll see you in December.

CHEERS!

I like watching who I bid against. There are a few guys who always seem to bid on the same stuff I am after. So when I can I just watch....then an hour or so before close I put Iin my max bids....sometimes I have to bid again......other times I just shut it down at wait till around 9 and see what happened. This way I don't get attached to something I don't have, and am happy with my winnings.

I for one also like the Turkish stuff. I also thought that Friday the 13th was the Original not part 2. I believe, and I could be wrong, just like thai posters turkish stuff just adopted our art.....in the late 80's ish.....so you will be able to get some of the sequels. I fully intend to expand on that research in the future. After my site is 100%, mural is done, and I find a damn contract for new work!

Have you seen the scouts movie yet? I heard it was similar to Zombieland. Which is a great flick IMHO. Alright I rambled long enough!   ;D

Gingerman: ZOMBIELAND was much better than SCOUTS. SCOUTS was sillier. especially at some specific points (I won't give away what happens but I'll just say Brittany Spears and Penis as two examples. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see the flick).

I'm back...a little earlier than I wanted to be, but that was because of the visit to the Kirk Hammett CLASSIC MONSTERS exhibit ( http://www.allposterforum.com/index.php/board,67.0.html then see both "Looking for interviews for a movie poster book" and the "Metallica's Kirk Hammett on movie posters..."). So, I think i'll just do a quick poster post and then continue on with my hiatus.

Here are 10 new ones (all nothing exciting...except for the last one, maybe...):

MONSTER A GO-GO:

Hey! "Monster A Go-Go"?  Where have I heard THAT name before? Hmm... I already have a copy of this (I think I've posted a photo of me holding my other copy in a frame when i first got it), but that one had a title stamp on the back that bled through. It was okay--but had always bothered me. When I saw this one come up I went for it...but not too aggressively...and GOT it. Yahoo!

DAWN OF THE DEAD (Thai):

I already have this one...but i just could NOT let it go as cheaply as it was being sold for. I hate that I do that...especially since money does not grow on trees...but...now i have 2 copies.

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (Thai):

The story that applies to DAWN OF THE DEAD above, goes for this NIGHTMARE poster as well. This one though may be earmarked for a friend for Christmas. We'll see...

HORROR OF THE JUNGLE (A COMPANY OF WOLVES?) (Thai):

This one is apparently (in English) called HORROR OF THE JUNGLE. But the graphics make it look like it might really be the cool (and somewhat forgotten) 80s werewolf flick  A COMPANY OF WOLVES. Hmm. I have no idea, but it was cheap enough so I took a chance...

SNOW WHITE (Re-release):

I probably already have this, but it was cheap...  Why not?

SLEEPING BEAUTY (Re-release):

Believe it or not, this is the very first paper I have on SLEEPING BEAUTY. I've tried for years to get something--always thwarted. This is probably my least favorite poster for the film, but you have to start somewhere...  I do find it interesting though that of all of the characters on the poster, the one who appears in the movie the least--Prince Phillip--is featured twice on it while everyone else only gets one shot. Ha!

SOME LIKE IT HOT (Re-release):

I'll never be able to get a first release for this film...  I am reasonably sure i already have this 80s re-release poster, but got it just in case I don't. Love this movie!

ANIMAL HOUSE:

I never really wanted this poster and always thought the movie was just okay--not the brilliant comic classic it has a reputation for. An acquaintance asked me about getting one of these years ago. I told him what to watch out for (fakes) and gave him places to shop for one. I never knew if he ended up scoring one or not...but it somehow put the poster on my radar. After haphazardly trying to get one for years and years, i finally did.

THE HILLS HAVE EYES:

I also already have one of these, but its in a tad rougher condition than I am happy with. This one came along and I got it. Whoo hoo!

SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS:

This last one is really the only one i am excited about. It was actually on my bucket/"possible dreams" list. Ooooo SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS!!!  If you've never seen it, YES it IS a real movie. It's god-awful, but awesome at the same time. I totally dig the cheesy, zippy little theme song ("Hooray for Santa Claus"). Little Pia Zadora is the little girl Martian in the upper right (below the martian with his arms curved up). WOW!  And just in time for the holiday season. Ho ho ho!!!!

Okay--tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Have a groovy holiday everyone. I'm back on my hiatus until around the 1st.

Cool adds there, Shawn..

And yes... your one Thai poster IS for Company of Wolves (1984)  thumbsup.gif.

Great artwork on it, too--very colorful.

How do you know that for sure? I looked on IMDB for alternate titles and HORROR OF THE JUNGLE  was not listed. Thanks

Because I did some quick research.  ;D (And that artwork of the wolf's snout coming out of the human mouth was used on many of the poster campaigns).

Some like it hot is such a marvellous film. I would be just happy too with any paper for this film. It has the best ending? Or maybe John Ford's Man who shot Liberty Valance... Uhm... Cant decide... I guess...nobody's perfect ;)

Great poster. Need to watch the film again.

Yessir..

That.. and her performance in the theatrical production of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeney_Todd:_The_Demon_Barber_of_Fleet_Street

She was totally brilliant in this (As well as the 1944 film version of Gaslight)... hands down!!

Uhm. How funny. I think her best was in a very small role,  truly remarkable in The Long Hot Summer her performance was very powerful.

Mind you.....uhm ehm...I tend to focus on Paul Newman .

I'm B-A-C-K from my Thanksgiving trip and short hiatus from the boards. I'll be on and off throughout the month before I go on my big hiatus...where I plan to only visit about once a month throughout 2016. Last April when i hit 50, it was my intention to slow down and only buy posters on my bucket list. That kind of fell by the wayside when I discovered the joys (and seductive temptations) of foreign posters!  Italian, French, Mexican, Spanish, German, THAI (! ! ! ! !), Japanese, Belgian, Polish, etc. Instead of buying bucket list titles, i was buying everything and anything on the planet...including a bunch of US crap-ola I didn't need.

So, once 2016 hit, i'll be trying to switch gears again. But more on that plan later...

In the meantime, i have a bunch of new stuff i'll share throughout the coming weeks (before 2016 pops up, anyway). This first batch for the last month of 2015 is snore/bore-inducing. Before we start trudging through this offering from the sludge pile, let me say hello to my recent visitors...

Rosa, it is always a delight and honor to hear from APF's resident female poster fan. Thank you for dropping by...and I agree with you on SOME LIKE IT HOT. But guess what. I have NEVER seen THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE. Shocker, huh?

ARI, do you have internet access still? For some reason, I thought you were going to be off the grid for your summer in the hills. No? Is it scorching hot there yet? Get your bikini wax done? Kowabunga!! (And Santa still wears his heavy furs down there, is that right? GEEZ!)

e, as I posted on your thread, you'll be amazed by some of the similar things I have (which I'll post next time. Promise!) to those you posted on your thread yesterday. Stay tuned and check back later in the week!

Jeff, don't tease Gingerman. Show him the way to his SNOW WHITE foil quest... He's still in his inaugural year on the site. Cut the man some slack. BESIDES, he is super busy organizing his poster website and painting his mural. He doesn't have time to search every thread in APF...   :)

Gingerman, hopefully the above will work. Ha! (I'm curious too!)

Steve Your comment has me really thinking about this site. T and the mysterious Holiday are the "owners" of this site...but Jeff is ALL OVER the place on here. How does he have a full time job AND a life AND be able to keep such a close eye on the boards? I'm baffled and amazed. Has he cloned himself? Have you any clue?

Ted, glad you dig the HILLS poster. Take a gander below. It's not nearly as nice, but...it was there and i had to get it.

Okay, now on with the absolute dullest shock-a-rama poster show yet. I hope you are sitting down (so you don't have far to fall when you pass out from sheer boredom...). Here we go-go...

THE HILLS HAVE EYES II:

Zowie!  I had seen this ill-advised sequel on video years ago. i never realized it had played theaters. I thought it was strictly a straight-to-video release. WRONG! And here's the lackluster poster to prove it. Oh well, at least Berryman had a job for a few weeks.

EVIL CLUTCH:

I remember reading about this in the pages of FANGORIA magazine eons ago (It's still in publication, right? I haven't picked up an issue in ages, but back in the day, i remember buying the very first issue in the late 70s with GODZILLA on the cover. THAT's how old i am, boys and girls.. EEK!). It sounded good. I had to see it. There was an old theater that kind of converted itself to an art house/revival theater that actually started showing Troma films. I really wanted to go...and when i finally got to one, I was so disappointed because it was just awful. The theater stopped showing Troma films before EVIL CLUTCH came out...but I caught it on video. Crap. Oh well...the poster is quasi-interesting. Why did I bother? Who knows?

ASSAULT OF THE KILLER BIMBOS:

I remember seeing this poster as a coming attraction in the snack bar of an old, long-gone drive in in town back in the day. The poster is boring--and looks very wannabe Valley Girl-esque. But that title, ASSAULT OF THE KILLER BIMBOS...WOW! I had to see it. I waited and waited and waited. it NEVER played town. That should have been a sign. I caught it on video eventually...utterly forgettable. I really don't remember much about it other than they seemed to maybe be on the road the whole movie? Maybe it was a comedic chase film? Flashes of desert-like area... Or maybe I am remembering a completely different film? BIMBOS AWAY... (it was cheap.)

DOLLS:

I never saw this, but looks like typical Charles Band crap-a-rama. And it had a theatrical release. Hmm. This would go with the DOLLY DEAREST poster I got a while back.

HANDS OF DEATH and BLOOD FINGERS combo:

I have NO idea what i was thinking when i bought this turd of a poster. I don't even like martial arts films. An utter waste of cash...

LILO & STITCH lenticular:

I do love my lenticular posters. Ooooo. I'm always on the lookout for bargains too. I've seen the "LILO & STITCH" lenticular offered many times, but usually it is in a foreign language--German, French, Dutch, Japanese... Where the heck was English? i waited and came across one fairly reasonably priced. SOLD!

NAKED EVIL:

Another "what was I thinking?" purchase...  This film is also known as "EXORCISM AT MIDNIGHT". I've seen both versions (on the same DVD). SNORE! It's a black & white, talky British film with absolutely NO horror whatsoever. And NO naked, NO evil and NO exorcism. Zzzzz

THE CHARLIE CHAPLIN FESTIVAL (R-1940s):

I bought this?  Really?  Okay...  Uh...

GODZILLA (2014):

I saw the movie and it was better than the Matthew Broderick GODZILLA, but not great. And the poster...such a disappointment. The bus shelter-sized one was nice, but I don't collect them that big. I settled for the one-sheet (international advance version) and only got it because it was cheap. Otherwise, why bother?

ERNEST SAVES CHRISTMAS:

I know what you are thinking...Monster A GoGo has sunk to a new low by including an ERNEST poster. Oh my STARS!!! The reason this is here is because, many years ago i stopped off at my Grandmother's one afternoon. My grandma was watching a movie. She was smiling through it and I sat and watched a little of it with her. She said "I just love this movie." Okay..., "I watch it every year when it comes on TV." Hmmm. "I remember taking your mom and Uncle Bert to see it when they were little."  Huh? I asked her what movie she was talking about. "This one," she said. "It's a Wonderful Life."  "Grandma," I told her, "That's not 'It's a Wonderful life.' That's 'Ernest Saves Christmas.' "

To this day I'll never understand how she could have confused them. But THAT is why i have this poster.

And now, you are free...  Did everyone survive the onslaught of savage and naked boredom with this lot of posters? I hope so... The NEXT batch will be much groovier, i promise.

CHEERS!

It's all very simple when you think about it... Jeff is a woman
