My Poster Has Been Published!
« on: November 15, 2014, 10:09:33 PM »
I was contacted by a journalist a few years ago researching an article on the "Fourteen Bricktops" all-girl band for the Indiana Historical Society magazine Traces.  Somehow he had seen the poster (window card size) I acquired dating to the early 1930s and asked if he could use an image for his article.  I, of course, said yes!  The article was finally published this past summer and I was given complimentary copies of the magazine.  Even though it is not a movie poster or film related, I thought I would share:

My poster is on the left (from the Royal Palais in Galena, Illinois noting Jean Rankin):

Some additional information on the Fourteen Bricktops can be found here (or just pickup the magazine!):

Sounds like our wives would get along really well.

Nothing good ever comes out of wives discussing husbands (and posters)!

Jeff - I've had it for probably 5 years or so now?  Came from a seller who was selling a group of window cards (including movie-related) that were found underneath the floor boards of a house being renovated - all dating to early 1930s.  And no, there were not any Dracula, Mummy or Frankenstein cards (at least that I was made aware of  :P )

Congrats again, Chris. And the great and cool thing is... yours was another of these "under the floor board" finds.

It's just a matter of time before Drac, Frank or Imhotep makes an appearance this way, too.  waiting1  ;D
