I'd probably only get one if I owned my own house and I planned on never moving and I'd paste it up with wallpaper glue (for JWR)

What about when your quadruple king sized bed is delivered for your harem?  I am sure a sheet of this size would keep a lot of ladies offaly warm

Question - are there larger sizes for posters or this woudl be it? Just curious, I read some sort of description about a poster used outside a building and it was smaller than 24...

i think the ones used at IMAX are larger.. no? yes? dunno? don't care? what? wt-flop?

I have seen a few that were over thirty feet long but not many. There have also been some really huge banners created instead of using paper for the huge freeway signs outside of places like LA. Star Wars made several for use there I think to promote Star Tours at Disney years ago. Do not remember the size but they were much larger than 24 sheets.

Thanks. That's very helpful. I saw some pics of large banners so wasn't sure if they will qualify as posters (paper made) and i was curious  to know a bit more about the sizes.

Very useful. Thanks again thumbsup.gif

I am about to start photographing (in sections) the 24 sheet for the 35mm (non-roadshow) release of SPARTACUS.

Posters larger than 24-sheets surely existed (see below), but they wouldn't have been put out by the studio. They were likely just 1-off type posters.  As Undead said, there were a few odd sizes like 30-sheets and 7-sheets, but they were short-lived and very similar in size to the existing 6-sheets and 24-sheets.

Great photos!!.
Thanks Matt. Very helpful. I guess I was asking because I wasn't sure if those were "posters " thought these were made of a different  material. I gather most of these huge posters must have been "custom made" so they are quite unique..but perhaps not very collectable.

Thanks again. Really useful.

Ha, clever...

I can't find a good close-up photo, but you see stuff like that in NYC all the time.  They are usually printed on some sort of semi-transparent material (maybe perforated vinyl?) so it doesn't block all the light for those living/working on the other side.  As below, it's really common to see them on construction sites.

And one more for fun  ;)

Great shots as always. Down side, now I want to watch Day the Earth Stood Still but don't own it. Have to rectify that.

Looks like about a 360 sheet!  Roughly (5) 24-sheets high x (3) 24sheets wide, no?   ;D

I am wondering if the DTEST and Johnny Guitar on that same building might be painted as opposed to being massive posters?

Now I am wondering how you can possibly pull off proper perspective on something so massive when you are working on it up close in a very small area?!

Is this really painted?

Doing something this size and in that detail would take weeks, if not a couple months to complete (from literal start to finish).

Amazing work, truly, if it is painted... but I suspect something a little less labor intensive (a 100% "guess comment," here, btw).  :)

Heres a timelapse for the dark knight billboard...Looks to be painted!

I know they can use a projection system to aid in initial layout.
