Very nice.  I checked, but I don't have the missing one.  Sorry.

Jollyfine set so far, thanks for posting those. Does the last card have a snow scene on it?  I'm hoping so... :D

Unfortunately, no snow scene on the last card.  Here is a stock photo of it.

Shame about the snow, but a jollyfine card all the same, good luck with the hunt.

Used to watch Holiday Inn annually.
Its been a few years since the last I saw it and your cards have sparked the desire to amend that.
I hope you find your last card soon.
 cheers

I did have a look around for this but only saw something on CVTreasures... until I saw that it had sold and was a special order or some such.

Best of luck.

Here is where the fun starts for me. I love the hunt for those fills, but one must learn patience.  You know the card exists, so that is a first step.  Watch the auctions, ask around.  Find people with similar tastes in collections.  Network, network, network (what you are doing here)

But don't get discouraged.  The card will eventually turn up, probably in an incomplete set that includes cards you already have.  I have many incomplete sets, and some of my fills have taken 20 years to find.  But the point is they happen eventually.  Last week I filled in missing Kiss Me Kate cards at Bruce's auction for $18.  It is a nice little high when that happens.

I am in a similarly (joyous) predicament with similarly era'd Saint cards.

Thing is, I am told the paper shortage during the war meant that much of paper like this was recycled into bombs and warplanes.

The toss up is between which now will come first; a complete set or death.

You are right; part of the fun is the hunt to fill out the entire collection of eight.  I have looked for about 5 years for this card.  I, too, saw the one on CV Treasures but it was long gone.  Also, about a month ago, it showed up on Ebay.  But, it was pretty banged up and I decided to not buy it but continue to look.

I remember some years ago I bought 7 Goodbye Mr. Chips cards on Heritage.  The Title card was missing.  I was so excited to find the Title card at Cinevent to complete the set.  I went to Cinevent because I heard it was a huge film convention (I also collect film).  The convention did have some film, but I honestly think it was more of a movie poster/lobby card convention than anything else.

Does anyone go to Cinevent to shop for posters or lobby cards?

I attend Cinevent every year for not just the posters and stuff, but have in person face time with Rich, Sean, and a host of others that I know through the chat boards.
I'll raise a glass to the illusion but drink to the reality.
