And the thing is, too, that props, costumes and sets were all created or painted in such a way, to look best, knowing that they were going to be filmed in black and white, rather than in color.

Had CASA been shot in color, there is a chance the piano would not have been painted that peach color to begin with (if that is the exact shade it was, when in the film).  :)

Look at some of those color pictures taken on the set of black and white movies.  They really didn't wear lime green suits with pink shirts and blue ties back in the day :)
