this is one of the funniest things to me about many sellers on ebay

when I look at posters, lobby cards, pressbooks.. the most out of joint retail pricing is on material from the 1950s & 60s

in some cases, like Yuba Coin, the prices are so out of whack I wonder what their expectation is.
Of course they are just one of many, but when you have 1950s pressbooks priced at 1/2 of a 1sh price or a 1950s poster that sells for $5-10 (or even less) and someone has dozens listed at $100, $200, $500.. you have to wonder how they arrived at these prices.

this one is real funny

priced at maybe 20 times it's value, this is discounted from the previous $1275
here are some other items from this seller

As you know Rich, some sellers are just looking for that one time home run sale to that uneducated, impatient or otherwise idiotic buyer which offsets all their efforts in listing many items at ridiculous prices.

Some also have no real intention of selling anything.

Who knows why it is 50s & 60s?  Maybe because that material is far more prevalent and has thus fallen into more absurd hands...

Rich, do you see or think that this trend is still happening with material from these decades?

Or has there been any shift that you've noticed?

They might be older sellers who realise time is running out, only a big pay day will make any difference to their dire problems

There's one seller who routinely lists 30s-40s material for 3-4-5x or more FMV.

It happens in all areas, but I agree it's hardest on folks who sunk money into old Hollywood stars that aren't collected anymore yet they still have it in their heads that since they spent X dollars on the item many years ago it has to still be worth X dollars now.
(not talking Bogart, but the Bob Hopes and the like).
