French poster 3:10 TO YUMA
« on: April 16, 2017, 05:43:14 PM »
Hello everybody

I would like to know if everyone have any information about the first release of the French poster 47x63 of 3h10 for Yuma. Printer, signature...

I know there is one of D’après Guy-Gérard-Noël

And another one with the train instead the farm...but i have no better picture of this one.
I never seen the first release and never meet a collector who have one in is collection.

Maybe somebody here get one?!

The one with the train looks like someone redrew Noel's artwork. Is this one a later re-release? And it also looks to be unsigned.

Yes it will be logical that the first release will be with a train.
But i have no picture that tell me this poster is signed by Noël (Even if it's his artwork) and also i have no information about the printer.

Stanislas Choko on his book written that the poster is from Noël and printed by CINÉMATO!

Looking for better pictures.

And according to the descriptions on emp about the 2 French copies they have sold, the one with the farm is not by Noel, but by an artist who did it in Noel's style:

http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/film_title/3%253A10%2520TO%2520YUMA%2520%2528%252757%2529/type/French%25201p/archive.html

"Note that the poster is signed "d'apres Guy Gerard Noel", which means that the unknown French artist created the poster in the style of the original French poster by Guy Gerard Noel, but that Noel did not actually do this art."

Yes Jeff

The 2 copy that Bruce sold are the definitely a Re-release signed by D’après Guy-Gérard-Noël. But i didn't know the printer.
The pictures are too small. It will be interesting to have a better view of the poster.

I'm sure if you write and ask emp, they will give you the printer's information that is on that poster.

I think that the first release didn't have a train, was signed Noël and is probably hard to find.  They re-released it in the late 50s, early 60s with the "D'après" and again later on by replacing the farmhouse by a train and removing Noël's name entirely.  My guess anyway.

Yes you may true. I also thinks that they are 2 Re-release.
But the 2 poster are late 50's because there are distributed by Universal S.A and in the 60's Universal passed Universal. Inc.

Did anyone have one in is collection?

One thing: The film was produced and distributed by Columbia, not Universal.  :)

Jerome, do you know if Columbia also went from using S.A. to "Inc" in the 1960s, like Universal did?

Hello guys

I continue to investigate the subject and here is what I find.
This is not the first-realease, but that's cool!

printed by RICHIER-LAUGIER. This poster is not signed by Noël.
