Well?

This will always be my dream poster.  It is a poster that CONTINUES to stop me in my tracks and fascinate me.  Honestly, I would trade my entire collection just to have it on my wall.  And I would probably have to, because this one is EXPENSIVE.  Well, it was 20 years ago when it came up for auction  ;)

I could stop collecting if I owned it...For me, there is no better.

For me, it does not exist.

me neither as a practical matter, but also not a value matter - there is very simply no poster worth as much as my collection in total. If you say "what TEN posters...." Maybe.. just "maybe"

German Metropolis with the credits.

If you've got one, mine are all yours, so do get in touch.

The problem is it's like the "What's your favorite poster question?", my standard response is always "The next one."  The thrill is in the chase for me, I suspect that would be the case even with a Metropolis on the wall.

there is no poster that would have MORE sentimental value to me than the ones I have Chris.
in order for someone to make me want to give them all up, I would need a special incentive.
the only incentive there would be is to get posters worth more $ than what I have, that could be easily sold into an all-cash position at a higher value than what I already own

of course, I recognize I am in a unique situation.
I've been doing this for almost 5 decades and in that time what I have had in my collection has sated nearly every wish I have had in the collecting arena and in every field I have collected.

my wishes have been - for the most part - granted!

None.  It takes too long to build a collection, and time, at least to me, cannot be bought or traded.

If there is a poster I'm dying to get, I'll find ways to get it or let it go.

Franky six-sheet trumps time, patience, searching, bidding, etc., etc., etc.
It is the holy grail of this hobby.

You have some collection then, Rich!

Personally, I wouldn't swap my personal collection for any single poster.
However, I would swap my duplicates for the Metropolis US one sheet which we all know does not exist, or at least has not been found yet, but that is purely for financial purposes as that poster would be worth an absolute fortune! ...Now that is the holy grail, Ted! ;-)
Best wishes,
Adam

The Frankie 6sh is tempting, Ted.. and it is "a grail," as you say..

But what of other Uni horror 6 sheets (as yet, not seen since the 30s or known (yet) to exist) that possibly could still come to light? The idea of "the hunt" or discovery or find, is almost more the thrill (in general terms).

I'm meaning a 6sh for Dracula, The Mummy, Bride of Frank, et al.

That being said, might one of those titles also be worth a "collection" trade-in, for The One?)

It is all in the eye of the beholder, methinks.  ;)

How does the story go?

Ron Moore supposedly tracked one down for Kirk Hammett as recounted in Too Much Horror Business.

He found the guy who allegedly sold it, tried numerous times to contact the buyer via telephone etc and eventually went to his home in person.

The "buyer" wouldn't let him in and did not confirm or deny its existence...

All Sounds a bit too suspicious to me...  :-\  ( Just my opinion, of course, all).  ;D

(Why not confirm or deny, after the fact?)

As we all know collectors are a weird lot.  That was actually the topic of the interview in which this story was related...

Not a chance. Why swap for one when I have many..?   I have £10 posters in my collection that I enjoy as much as some in the £1000's...
It's more than a Hobby...

Maybe so and I love the little devil but it's not my holy grail (and I lean heavy toward the Unis). Don't have much in that way but my collection is my holy grail.  So adding posters is like adding jewels to the crown. The grail just keeps getting fuller and more satisfying all the time.
I'll raise a glass to the illusion but drink to the reality.
