Thanks guys.  It's slightly smaller than a OS - something like 25x37 or so

This is an excellent illustration of the limitations of Google translate.  I don't think anybody here reads Arabic other than me, but the translation for the world "poster" is not the word most commonly used.  GT has used a word that means "label" or "sticker" more often than it means "poster," and I have never known anyone to use it when talking about travel posters.  I love GT and I use it a lot for Persian and Arabic, but you can't just take whatever it gives you without making some adjustments, unless you're sure nobody reading the result can evaluate the accuracy of it.  Always have a dictionary handy for verification!

I find Bing translator gets some of the grammar nuances better for some of the main languages, although I haven't tried it with Arabic.

I haven't used Bing for anything but I didn't see a keyboard.  Maybe there are keyboards available somewhere.  With Arabic, Persian, Russian, Hindi, etc. Keyboards are very important.  One of the big advantages of GT is I've been able to use it to teach myself to touch type in Persian and Arabic, which has given me the ability to interact online.

Hi John,

Thanks for the info. I simply put the word "poster" into the translator.

Would something like this work better?:  الإعلان عن السلع

Hi John,

This one just means "advertisement" or literally "advertisement for goods."  The most common word used among poster collectors is افيشات which is borrowed from the French affiche with the Arabic plural -at for inanimate objects added to make the word affichat; Google recognizes this as "posters" if typed in Arabic as a request for English translation, but rarely returns as an Arabic translation for the English word.  If you really want to nail it down to make it clear what type of poster you have in mind, you could type for example افيشات سينمائية literally "cinema posters" and even GT will recognize that as "movie posters."  Travel posters might be closer to the example you just gave إعلانات السفر e'lanat al-safar "travel ads," but I think more likely افيشات للسفر affichat lil-safar "travel posters."  Most of my spoken experience about posters by far has been about movie posters, so I'm sure there are lots of things I don't know about common Arabic terminology for travel posters.
