United Artists Three Sheet Poster. 41x81. Folded. Not assembled. Fine.


Original United Artists three sheet for the Andre DeToth film THE OTHER LOVE, starring Barbara Stanwyck, Richard Conte and David Niven. The film was produced by David Lewis. Lewis had been Irving Thalberg's assistant at MGM and he worked on CAMILLE, a film that bears a strong resemblance to THE OTHER LOVE. Stanwyck is a concert pianist who suffers from tuberculosis. She goes to a convalescent facility in Switzerland where she meets a doctor with a great bedside manner played by David Niven. No spoilers here except to say she ignores the doctor's orders and runs off inadvisedly with a race car driver, deftly portrayed by Conte. Stone lithograph. This poster has some small amount of missing paper at the fold intersection. Three sheets are generally printed on two sections. This poster was probably used, but the two sections have not been joined.

Original United Artists One-Sheet Poster for the film BREAKFAST IN HOLLYWOOD (1946). The film was more or less the spawn of Tom Breneman, a popular radio personality in Los Angeles. Breneman became famous hosting a radio show that was broadcast originally from Sardi's restaurant on Hollywood Boulevard. His program were spontaneous and lively and featured many guests in the Hollywood scene. In 1945 Breneman opened his own restaurant. Soon a plot was hatched to make a film involving the restaurant and United Artists picked up the distribution. Besides Breneman, the film featured Bonita Granville, Beulah Bondi, Raymond Walburn, Billie Burke, Andy Russell and none other than gossip-mistress Hedda Hopper. Also appearing in the film and on this poster are Spike Jones and his City Slickers as well as The Nat King Cole Trio. Dancing Girls! Pancakes! Good . Doesn't this poster belong in your breakfast nook? We have graded this poster in very fine condition. It is nicely linen-backed. DRACULA (1931) Realart insert poster $5500



Little need be said about this revered Universal horror film. This insert is from the re-release of DRACULA in 1951 by Realart. Original material for this film is very expensive and difficult to acquire easily. But this insert is quite great, featuring a really ghoulish image of Bela Lugosi as the storied vampire. Condition is really nice - we have graded it fine plus to very fine - and the poster presents beautifully. First class.

This was the first film of Joan Weldon.  The film is not much, but I love this poster.  The poster is pretty much as you see it.  I have started scanning older photos to save time.  In our space photographing a six sheet takes a lot of time.  If you want a better photo we can send one.  These six sheets, especially the ones that have already been assembled require more space to photograph than I currently have.  Paper is not brittle, and if you care to, you could linen-back very successfully.  This six sheet has not been around much.  I also have a one sheet at https://www.movieart.com/system-the-1953-11228/

Original Italian two-foglio for the John Ford film THE FUGITIVE (1947) starring Henry Fonda, Dolores Del Rio and Pedro Armendariz. One of Ford's more art and intellectual films, THE FUGITIVE is also one of the most beautiful, with spectacular cinematography by the Mexican cinematographic master, Gabriel Figueroa. Fonda plays a fugitive priest on the run from the authorities in an unspecified Latin American country where religion has been outlawed. A bandit and his woman engineer an escape for the priest, but a police informant deceives the priest when he tells him that the man who helped him to escape is in need of last rites. What follows is a film that was never a commercial success, but which Ford always felt a special affinity for. It belongs, rightly, to a subset of Ford's films

Original Italian two-foglio (39x55) for the John Ford film THE FUGITIVE (1947) starring Henry Fonda, Dolores Del Rio and Pedro Armendariz.  One of Ford's more cerebral films, THE FUGITIVE is also one of the most beautiful, with spectacular cinematography by the Mexican cinematographic master, Gabriel Figueroa.  Fonda plays a fugitive priest on the run from the authorities in an unspecified Latin American country where religion has been outlawed.  A bandit and his woman engineer an escape for the priest, but a police informant deceives the priest when he tells him that the man who helped him to escape is in need of last rites.  What follows is a film that was never a commercial success, but one for which John Ford always felt a special affinity.  The poster features art by Marino.  This poster is folded and is graded in fine plus to very fine condition.  There is some minor toning as it not uncommon with posters of this age.  This poster could be linen-backed successfully and would display beautifully.  It can also be displayed "as is".

This is a very nice, very huge Saul Bass poster.  Note the DESIGNED BY SAUL BASS on the upper left border.  This has no bids at this point, but I imagine it will garner some bids before long.  Nice chance to get in cheaply.  The sale is next weekend with internet bidding still open.

Original Touchstone Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Paul Mazursky comedy, DOWN AND OUT IN BEVERLY HILLS (1986) starring Nick Nolte, Bette Midler, Richard Dreyfuss, and Little Richard. We had seen this story before; the film is a remake of Renoir's BOUDU SAVED FROM DROWNING (1932). Nolte stars as a down-and-out bum who tries to drown himself in the swimming pool of a rich but dysfunctional family. When the husband (Dreyfuss) saves him and takes him in over the strenuous objections of his social-climbing wife (Midler), the real fun begins. Before long, the homeless bum is running the whole house and trying to straighten out the lives of everyone in the family. This original one sheet poster is rolled and in near mint condition.
