THE GLASS KEY  French 47x63

There are fold separations on this one and it should either be backed or archivally repaired by someone who knows what they are doing.

BUT: COLORS are spectacular.

Twenty-four sheet for A TIME TO LOVE AND A TIME TO DIE (1958).

This is not on our website.  inquire posters@movieart.com  Condition is quite good.  I thought I'd post to note the passing of JOHN GAVIN.  He was directed in this film by Douglas Sirk.  The film was based on a novel by the author of "All Quiet on the Western Front", the great pacifist book of the 20th Century.  A TIME TO LOVE AND A TIME TO DIE was Remarque's novel of World War II.

Clearing out some of the archive photos, I ran across this photo of a poster that used to hang in my first office.  Those were the days.  And NIGHTS I might add.

Here's another photo I found of a poster long gone.  A celebrity director bought this - and no, I won't say who - because I must respect the director's confidentiality.  But this was director is a big Howard Hawks fan.  This poster is the very first French 47x63, a stone lithograph and not the early reissue offset poster of 1960.  One of the very best French John Wayne posters.  RARE.  I thought the group might enjoy seeing this.

I do not have this poster!  This picture is 25 years old!

Here is another Wayne six sheet from our past.  This one has proved difficult to find over the years.  This poster was auctioned at Sothebys years ago.

Here is one more blast from the past.  This is a six from the 1921 film RIP VAN WINKLE, released by Hodkinson.  This is the only one of these I have ever seen.  This is, of course, a stone lithograph which this photo cannot hope to do justice to.  We also had the 24 sheet, which was in very delicate condition.  It was meticulously restored for a silent collector.

We over 8000 separate titles.  MovieArt.com will sell no reproductions.  I do not have this poster.

Italian Four-Foglio for WHEN LADIES MEET (1941).  This film is a comedy, but you wouldn't know it from these remarkable photo and art portraits of the four MGM stars by Fiorenzi.  Condition is very good plus.  This is not an archival photo.  We do have this poster available now.  $1000.

Nice poster, Kirby. Beautiful colors!

The images of Taylor and Crawford look like photos of the 2. Are they? (Or maybe all 4 stars' images are tinted pics?)

Yes.  Fiorenzi often worked with photos and art together.  That is the case here.  K.

Best of luck, Kirby.  I like it, but so many good things I want to spend too much money on this time around, and I make it a point to pass on things I can't display.
