Not really sure where to put this one
My Iron sky want add reminded me i had this stashed away.
I've had this one a long time and for one reason or another it's always been more trouble than it's worth to have on display.
I found it in an old run down farm house while on tour in Denmark and the rat's had started to nibble the edges.

Not to everyones taste i know...but it's still a poster

Have to put it back into hiding now  :-X

Very cool piece! A real definitive visual stamp from WWII.

What size is this?

It looks like the top and bottom may have both been (slightly) trimmed?

 cheers

It is superb piece of history from  WWII time .  German Luftwaffe ( Air force)  propoganda poster. Very expensive in Europe even in this condition.   cheers

Thanks guys
It does look trimmed alright.
I'd say it's about an A2 in size
Can't measure it at the moment because it's 3:30 am and it's back in hiding.

I have just the one from the WWII (1944) which I love a whole lot because it's sexy as; OK technically not propaganda but you can have a proper gander at it if you want... ;)

I hate to be the dickhead here, but I'm going on record to say this poster is a reproduction. No way would there ever be those black bars on the side of the poster.

Louie the black is the table or whatever is under the poster.

I'd hate you to be it too, but....

Louie the black is the table or whatever is under the poster.

He is correct.

I'll get the girls to pose with Nurse Bella if you like...

Yes, let me clarify, I am NOT speaking about the Cadet Nurse poster, I was referring to the Luftwaffe poster.

Looks like the Luftwaffe poster originally had a black border that went all the way around the image. The top and bottom borders have both been trimmed off, leaving the left and right sides only.

And a cool, German WWII image, imo, regardless.  thumbup

Ok got the stats...it's 23" x 18" in it's current shape, on closer inspection it does look like the top and bottom have been cut off and the black bars are part of the poster. the paper it's self feels like a thick wall paper and it's yellowed and stained on the back with water marks and some mould spots not to mention the rat nibbles on the edges. When i found it it was folded in 4 and the nibble marks all line up on the one spot when folded. The house i found it in was littered with old danish magazines and newspapers. I have no idea if it's an original nazi poster or if it's a repro. I've had it nearly 24 years at this stage and i don't care either way. I've never sold any of my posters and don't plan on selling any in the near future so it's staying put here. I used to have it on the wall until my first german girl friend saw it and it was nearly ripped down by her, my current GF is also german but jewish so i doubt this poster would survive very long if i ever let her see it...I think my hidden stash of old playboys would be in less danger than this thing if she ever found it.
I'd rather have the nurse twins than this, they are way better looking than Heinrick  :P

Hint from forum 101... when referencing a post, quote it, otherwise it may look like you are talking about something else. That should help your communication

that Luftwaffe poster is great, but I suggest a bit more than just borders are missing. It looks to me as if some textual work is missing from the top

No definitely not. I can't even prove if it's real or not so wouldn't feel right selling it.

Does it have any rubber stamps on the back?

No the only thing on the back is a paper sticker with my name on it from when i lent it to a local museum a few years back...Kinda pissed me off that they would do that to any old paper.

To Bruce : no no text is missing .
Similar poster was sold a few weeks ago at Hermann Historica for 900 euro.
The complete text reads "Unsere Luftwaffe " = our Air Force .
The one at HH did not have black borders , if I find the time I will post a pic tomorrow.
And one of mine American propaganda poster against the Japs.
