This is more "The Monster" - then and more recently - 1947, that is.

Karloff as he appeared in 1931 in the original Frankenstein on the left, and on the right, when he donned the makeup once again, in 1947, for a (now lost/non-existent) dream sequence from the film, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, with Danny Kaye. Karloff was in the film, but the reason why the Monster sequence was never used remains a mystery.

But Karloff looks amazing in the '47 shot and more like he did in 1931, then he did in Son of Frank (1939), as his face was a bit fuller in that flicker.

My dear friend, Kathleen Hughes, who starred in such films as It Came From Outer Space (1953), Three Bad Sisters (1956) and many others in the 1950s.

Her famous recreated "fright" pose, taken in the last week or so, is just great.  thumbsup.gif

Cool pic, Jeff.  Did you take it?  I love It Came from Outer Space, one of the better Jack Arnold/William Alland Universal productions of the 1950s.  How do you know her?

Hey Ben, no i didnt take the pic. She's up in Portland right now at one of those conventions where they do signings and that sort of thing.

I know her daughter and sons. And got to know her from going to her home for dinners, Oscar watching parties she and her husband would throw, that kind of thing. Her husband, Stanley Rubin, who was a producer (River of No Return among others), passed away a number of years ago. But Kathy is continuing to go, go go.

Jeff, Do you know who did Karloff's makeup for the Walter Mitty dream sequence?  Okie

Jeff, Wow, that's very cool that Jack Pierce did the makeup on Karloff eight years after Son of Frankenstein!  Thanks for educating me!  Okie

Twins and wannabe actors, the Bogdanoff brothers. Seems they made a little acting name for themselves in the late 1980s/early 90s.

But then their fascination with plastic surgery began. Talk about scary, let alone running into either one of them in a dark alley or on a bright, sunny beach!  :o

Those poor Bogdanoff twins look really awful these days, lol!  I remember when they used to host a cool sci-fi show on French TV in the early 1980s called Temps X back when I was a child living in Paris.  Time sure hasn't been kind to them!

I think time has only played a small part, Ben.

They now look like they could be siblings to celebrity-socialite, Jocelyn Wildenstein.  :o

Well yes Jeff, I was being diplomatic when I referred to time in my comment, lol!

I think I read somewhere that the Bogdanoff brothers claim that their extreme features aren't due to bad plastic surgery but are in fact caused by macromegaly (of course that doesn't explain the plumped lips and cat's eyes!).
