Not a poster but the marquee of the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles for the premier of The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939) with Laughton and Maureen O'Hara

I'm with CSM, too!  Kowabunga!  That's the good stuff, Jeff!  I think they fit all the Mummy images into the display they could get their hands on for that show.  Outstanding!  Okie

Now to find a vintage photo of a marquee or front lobby of a theater down in Argentina (if one even exists) that shows your BRIDE OF FRANK poster in action, too.

Okie, the story behind the Karloff photo is Universal persuaded him to let the photog get a few publicity photos of him "endorsing" A&C MEET FRANKENSTEIN by posing by the marquee. He agreed, with the caveat "as long as I don't have to watch it!" Boris hated the idea of his friend The Monster being ridiculed and "made sport of." There is another shot of Boris buying a ticket at the boxoffice; the expression on his face says it all.

With how Karloff is posing, it is akin to him reaching out, a la God about to touch Adam's fingertip, giving him the "life spark."  ;)

Both of these at the Rivoli Theater in NYC. But many decades apart, with SKY DEVILS being a 1932 release.

Those Sky Devils planes must have about a 30 foot wing span! Amazing advertising, Jeff!  Okie

From the Loews Ohio Theater, this huge advert for The Robe (1953), in the ornate lobby. Gotta love those columns in the background, too.  thumbsup.gif

From 1925.

A theater lobby shot showing (I think) a locally made, "coming attraction" poster for Chaney's The Phantom of the Opera. It almost looks like a silkscreen style. bed1

Great original lobby painted art, Jeff!!!  Looks like a doll giveaway promotion going on as well.  I wonder for what film?  Okie

Im sure a lot of this original, painted lobby art got tossed as soon as the movie closed. I'd love to know if this one was one of the lucky pieces that managed to survive. And if so, where it might be now.
