North African 50s one sheet with the same art as the 50s Belgian.  Soon to be framed and hung on the old wall.

Good one Rich  ;D.  My Belgian Kong is in Seattle enlivening my son's theater room (along with my Forbidden Planet and This Island Earth inserts).

It's 8 pieces, 118x157in.  6 regular large French posters, folded in 3 like they always are, and 2 sides.

And it's so much better than the US version where they removed the plane and replaced it with a turd looking... whatever that thing is.

Who did the original art for this image? A US or EU artist?

Any idea?

I think John Berkey did all the versions of Kong '76.
That's quite the paper, T.
Love it.

Love it.

Speaking of the Berkey art - collector extraordinaire Stephen Fishler (who also owns a Kong 6-sheet and of course the Frankenstein 6-sheet) also owns the Berkey original art for the 76 Kong.

Here's a Yugoslavian poster for King King Escapes. The film was made in 1967, but I could not locate a release year for that country. It looks like the KONG '76 art was reworked for this title. So that would seem to suggest Kong Escapes came was released in Yugo, sometime after 1976(?).

The reworked art took the crumpled fighter jet out of his right hand and shifted the position of the left.  ;)

Wim,

Is that a partial poster? or WC?

It's Very cool, regardless.

think it's a half insert for the '42 release. It is cool, but this time it is a case of half empty

A side by side, with the full '42RR insert. HA sold this copy way back in 2005, for $5750.00.

Your artwork is slightly different from the insert art, Wim (the title is in a different spot and laid out differently, the plane's locations etc) How wide is your piece? 14 inches? 22? Could yours more likely be a partial WC? (or, if wider, a jumbo WC?) The color on your piece is so vibrant, too. Love it.  clap (It may even be a partial WC or partial insert from the 1938RR!). The art looks to be very close to that done for the '38 OS.
