So...was it good?

Sorry!!  Just read this.  Yes, it was excellent, a real must if you are an Ebert fan, which I was/am.  He was my gateway into seeking out great films.  I miss him.

Hey Brandon.. i happened to catch the premiere episode by chance,.. and was pleasantly surprised (in a good way).  :D

Seems that from time to time, a film that has later been made into a series can be weak and lack a lot of "solid meat on the bone."

Yeah, I know what you mean.  The film in this case is a classic, and I agree that the premiere is pretty darn good.  The shots in Detroit at the beginning are neat, and overall it's a cool, slight alteration from the film.  It looks like the story is going to be cool to see, as it progresses.

Looking forward to the rest of the series.  8)

The season premiere of 12 Monkeys (2015) on SyFy.
Is this still good?  We need a new series to watch.

Done True Detective, GoT, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Homeland, SoA...of course the classics like Sopranos, the Wire, Band of Brothers etc.

Cable TV bites but we got nothing on deck.  Suggestions?

Very good.  It's a little different than the classic film, and it will be cool to see how it all goes.

just booked ticket to this (on the 31st in Melbourne). I don't have high hopes, but screw it, I will give it a go, and while I am there will be delivering poster orders to melbourne customers (saves them postage- I get to meet face to face and its just more fun).

I'm stocking the fridge with beer for Thursday's Congressional hearings.
Gonna take the day to kick back, tip a few and watch Hilary squirm.

Should be good. rofl1

I am about to watch Ghostbusters with my little one. It will be the first time she has seen it. I can't wait to see how she reacts to Stay Puft!

She is 5, will be 6 in January.  I knew the movie was pretty mild as for the scary stuff, but when she is a teenager I will do my best to terrify her!!! Haha but for now It is all the stuff that won't keep her up at night. Last week I showed her Star Wars episode IV, we started there because IMHO it is just good parenting to let her see the films in theatrical order.

You are wise beyond your years.
She is in for thrills and chills galore.
I did much the same with my three kids and it never fails when I decide to sell posters, they all rush in to stake their claims to films that we shared together.
 cheers

Great recounted stories to both you, Ted, and Chris.

Those are true "Kodak" moments.

What a great birthday date. She sounds like a clever girl.

Ted
Such a great experience raising children is, thank you for sharing your stories. I agree, there are so many great films for her eyes to see.
I have yet to sell any posters, however my oldest thought it was her duty to liberate my Neverending Story. It now hangs in her dorm room above the head of her bed. Guess I need another copy.....  Doh.gif

Jeff
Speaking of Kodak moments, I have taken time to document my youngest daughters life. A few years ago I setup an email account for her. Now as time goes by I send her messages, and pictures documenting her life. Tibits of knowledge, moments like starting school and so on. When she turns 18 I will give her the login information. I have not told anybody else on this planet about this, so ssshhhhh!!!!!

Rosa
Is your birthday in January? Capricorn perhaps?

My sister and brother in law did the same thing with their daughter, who turned 10 last May. It has been set up for a number of years, now, too. Anyone in the family can send her emails to that address--grandparents, etc and at some time in the future (i dont know if they will wait until she is 18 or maybe younger), they will give her the access to the account.

It's a GREAT idea, for sure, Chris. Your daughter will love to read those time capsule moments.  clap clap
