They are posters from the "S2 Art Group". This company bought 100-year-old lithograph presses, completely refurbished them, and created stone slabs that allowed them to make nearly perfect replicas of classic movie posters (and in some cases making a stone litho version of a poster that was not originally a stone litho!).

They were printed in exactly the same way the posters were originally printed (re-creating them down to the finest detail within the art, and even including the tiny writing from the bottom of the poster). These posters were printed between 1997 and 2003, and were NOT printed when the movies were originally released. They are super high quality and measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm] (except for two three-sheets they made, King Kong and Metropolis, which are in 3 sections and measure 41 x 81 when combined).

Here is an example: http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/archiveitem/2308962.html

We (eMoviePoster.com) hold 2,500 to 4,000 auctions every four weeks.
We have auctioned more movie paper for more money (in real sales) than any auction in the world.
We have the longest continuously running auctions of any auction, with over 1,914,280 to date from over 3,192 consignors.

There are some collectors who mostly only buy movie posters from their own country, and if you are one of those collectors I say, PLEASE consider also purchasing posters from other countries, because they often have great completely different images from the posters from your country, PLUS so MANY of them are VERY affordable!

Think I am exaggerating? Consider the 999 non-U.S. posters from 32 different countries in our current auctions closing in HOURS at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/13.html. There are currently 60 posters with no bid at all (so $1 can take those), 305 at $1 or with no bid, and 475 at just $1 to $5! And we have no "buyers premiums", so "$1" is REALLY $1, and NOT "$1, plus $19 buyers premium". Just about any dealer would charge $20, $30 or more for these same posters, and even reproductions of these would surely cost $10 or so! And it is not just the least expensive posters closing in hours that represent the best deals.

The 524 that are over just $5 are mostly WAY under where the same or similar posters have sold for in the past and while many are sure to get more bids, some won't, and there will surely be a LOT of "deals" (even on some of the best items) just as there always are in our honest no reserve auctions, where every item really starts at $1, and really sells to the highest bidder.

Plus, no matter how many of these you buy today, the U.S. shipping is just $12, even if you get 100 of them (actual cost anywhere else). And using our unique "Pay and Hold" system, you can get all you want over a three week period (six weeks outside the U.S.) and you pay just $12 U.S. shipping for everything as long as it fits in one package safely.

And you can now pay for your purchases entirely within our recently-added "Checkout 2.0", which even works with "Pay and Hold" orders, which saves you a fortune on shipping! Maybe some bidders are distracted by our December Major Auction (two parts of which are currently running) but if so, all the more reason to look these over super carefully so as to give yourself the best chance of getting great deals! But please, if you can't look at these non-U.S. posters right now, then don't put off visiting the above link for too long, because it takes a while to look over this many items, and in just a few hours they will all be going, going, GONE!

Many thanks sir.

So how are they discernible from the Original from year of release if the rendition is so perfect?

Apologies if discussed elsewhere.  Or indeed, just point me to a thread.

Best.

I believe many of them, including the one's associated with their collaboration with the AFI Top 100 Film Posters, are embossed with a tiny 'S2' at the bottom.

The S2 re-creation artists re-drew the artwork, and there are subtle artistic differences and variations when compared to the original theatrical poster. These differences reflected the S2 artists' hand and eye. The  S2s are not reproduced copies of the originals, is maybe a better way to put it.

They are discussed a bit here, too:

Part I of our December Major Auction (with the incredible Dominique Besson folded one-sheet collection) closes on Thursday at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/14.html and Part IV (more folded one-sheets, great lobby cards and more) begins right after Part I ends!

But many people have said to me, "Hey Bruce, I want to see what is in Part IV NOW, before Part I closes, and NOW you can! We have just added a complete preview gallery of Part IV at http://www.emovieposter.com/online/previews/2016dec/partiv/!

It contains ALL of the 741 items that fit in standard 11" x 14" boxes including lobby cards, folded one-sheets, and many ultra-rare items in Part IV (which runs from December 8th to 15th), including the lot numbers, so you can see the exact order in which they will be auctioned!

And here is a handy dandy chart of what is in Part IV:
3c001 MAN FROM UTAH 1934 John Wayne one-sheet
3c002-3c049 1970s one-sheets
3c050-3c091 1980s one-sheets
3c092-3c103 1990s one-sheets
3c104-3c124 Al Pacino one-sheets
3c125-3c146 De Niro/Scorsese one-sheets
3c147-3c168 Dustin Hoffman one-sheets
3c169-3c190 Woody Allen one-sheets
3c191-3c208 original 8 1/4" x 10 3/4" stills from top photographers
3c209-3c213 Universal horror heralds
3c214-3c218 linenbacked Metropolis pressbook ads
3c219-3c242 pressbooks, presskit, promo brochure, trade ad, storyboard art, special poster, mini window cards, BABE COMES HOME oversized still, DIE NIBELUNGEN cigarette card album, German programs & A0s, Mexican posters, Russian, half subway, French lobby cards
3c243-3c246 complete and incomplete lobby card sets
3c247-3c254 CHARLIE CHAPLIN'S PAY DAY lobby card set (by the card)
3c255-3c337 title lobby cards
3c338-3c741 scene lobby cards

So now you can see what is coming up in Part IV, but don't forget that Part I closes in less than a day at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/14.html, so be sure to check those out first!

I DON'T want to tell you about Part I of our August Major Auction (993 folded one-sheets from the Dominique Besson collection) which closes in just a few hours at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/14.html

I am NOT going to tell you about the literally hundreds of quality one-sheets that are well under where the same or similar posters have sold for in the past!
I am NOT going to tell you that LOTS of these are extremely rare styles that almost never come up for sale or auction!
I am NOT going to tell you that we don't have any reserves or buyers premiums, honest condition grading, and unenhanced super-sized images!
I am NOT going to tell you that this is the absolute finest selection of folded one-sheets offered at one time, and that people will be talking about this auction for many years to come!

Why? Because I want you to go to the above link and view all these posters for yourself, because seeing the posters (and their current bid prices) will sell them far better than anything I can write here!

But please remember that we have "time extended" bidding where 5 minutes must go by without a bid for an auction to end, so you can NEVER have an item "snatched away" from you in the final seconds, as happens so often on eBay and some other auction sites.

Each December, my company, eMoviePoster.com, has a major movie paper auction that is our best of the year. There are just a few hours left until the 993 folded one-sheets in Part I of this December Major Auction start to close at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/14.html, and maybe it is because there are just TOO MANY great items, but as of now there are lots of them with super-low prices.

Many will surely get more bids, but there are also sure to be many that will go for bargain prices, so why not go to the above link now and check them out, even if you are not a "collector"?

Unlike EVERY other major auction, we have NO buyers premiums at all, and we only charge you the actual cost of shipping, and we combine as many purchases into one package as can be safely done, which saves you lots of money.

And remember that we COMPLETELY take the "buyer beware" out of our auctions. When you buy from any other major auction, you are "gambling" (on the condition, on the image being accurate, on the items being well packed, etc, etc). But in OUR auctions, you not only KNOW for sure that what we write is 100% accurate, but you also know we give a LIFETIME GUARANTEE as to authenticity on what we sell, something NO other major auction does!

P.S. You don't have to have EVER bought a vintage movie poster to consider buying one of these! Any one of these would make a great holiday gift for your friends and relatives, because EVERYONE has a favorite movie or star, and so many of these are extremely affordable!

Of course, there is also "the stuff that dreams are made of"!

Good stuff tonight, Bruce.  Everything I like.  Nice FOLDED posters.  Makes me very happy, even though a lot of what I wanted sold for way over what I could afford.  Still got a few things, though, so good times  ;)

Part II of our December Major Auction (with 490 linenbacked posters of all sizes) closes on Sunday at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/15.html and the final Part V (159 oversized items like campaign books, 24sheets, billboard posters, paperbacked posters, tri-fold posters, and more)) begins right after Part II ends!

But many people have said to me, "Hey Bruce, I want to see what is in Part V NOW, before Part II closes, and NOW you can! We have just added a complete preview gallery of Part V at http://www.emovieposter.com/online/previews/2016dec/partv/!

It contains "only" 159 items (because they all need to be sent in large oversized flat packages and a few in oversized tubes) but there are a LOT of unbelievably scarce and choice items included, so be sure to look over this preview gallery now, and come back on Sunday when these 159 auctions go "live" (and end a week later)!

There are just a few HOURS left before the 490 linenbacked posters of all sizes in Part II of our December Major Auction start to close at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/15.html (starting at 3 PM CST, NOT & PM, like our Tuesday and Thursday auctions). This represents an incredible buying opportunity at all price levels, but especially on those currently under $150, because many of those are well under the cost of linenbacking alone!

Think I am exaggerating? With only 8 HOURS left (as of this writing) until these start to close, there are an astonishing SEVENTY SIX of the posters under just $25 each and an even more astonishing ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY ONE of them under just $50 each (remember that these have all been professionally linenbacked and are ready to frame, usually at a cost of $25 to $50 for the small ones, $100 to $150 for the one-sheet size ones, and MUCH more for the large ones (like three-sheets or French one panels), so clearly there are incredible deals to be made!

And of course, in addition to the incredible bargains, there are also a LOT of really wonderful and very scarce posters! All eyes in the hobby will be on the wonderful French one-panel for The Maltese Falcon, which truly IS "the stuff that dreams are made of" (as Humphrey Bogart said about the Falcon itself, within the movie)! If you like truly rare posters, this part of the auction has a lot of them, and come Sunday, they will ALL have new owners, because this is one auction where every item truly has no reserve, and truly sells to the highest bidder. Best of luck to those of you participate in this VERY special auction!

Now that the first two parts of our December Major Auction have ended (with combined sales of $433,444!), you might be thinking that all the best parts are over, but actually, the remaining Parts II, III, and IV have many wonderful (and rare) items in each!

Part III closes Tuesday at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/13.html and contains 322 U.S. and non-U.S. rolled posters

Part IV closes Thursday at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/14.html and contains 741 lobby cards, folded one-sheets and more

Part V closes Sunday at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/15.html and contains 159 items that ship in oversized tubes and boxes

And from right now until the Part III items start to close you can see ALL the items in all three parts at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/all.html (this makes searching FAR more easier)!

I guarantee you that you not only won't have trouble finding lots to bid on, but I imagine there is a great chance you will find TOO much to bid on!  But please don't wait to explore all that is offered in these three special auctions, because it takes time to look over so many fine and varied items!

Part III of our December Major Auction ends on Tuesday at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/13.html. It contains 322 great "rolled" posters of all kinds and starts closing at 7 PM CST. and many are VERY affordable and make great holiday gifts!

If you have the slightest interest in vintage movie posters, you will love looking at this auction, even if only to "window shop". Be sure to share this with your friends who would enjoy seeing it as well. And best of luck to everyone bidding in this VERY special auction!

We were consigned 18 deluxe 11x14 photos, and none are identified!

Hey to those of you who like puzzles (or who just like looking at images of pretty women!). We were consigned 18 deluxe 11x14 photos, and none are identified, but several have studio photographers' names (like Bud Fraker) on the back. See them all here: http://www.emovieposter.com/online/unidentified_stills4/

Some are of the same women, so there are not 18 to identify! With just a little research we we able to quickly determine that the first three are of Mary Webster, an actress who was in The Delicate Delinquent with Jerry Lewis, and who was in two memorable episodes of The Twilight Zone, and so we marked those.

CAN ANYONE READING THIS HELP IDENTIFY THE OTHERS? If so, just post a comment below, like this: "#1 is Mary Webster", using the numbers we gave to each image. Bonus points if you can tell us the movie she was working on (if any).

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Part III of our December Major Auction closes in HOURS at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/13.html and contains it contains 322 U.S. and non-U.S. rolled posters that offer exceptional values in FOUR areas:

1) 140 unfolded one-sheets from the past 30 years, including the 113 unfolded one-sheets from the Dominique Besson one-sheet collection (with some of the most rare and most desirable!)

2) 19 top level inserts and half-sheets (not many of them, but they are choice, including top horror/sci-fi!)

3) 137 non-U.S. posters from many different countries, including a LOT we have never had before!

4) 26 "S2 recreation" posters of wonderful 1920s and 1930s posters (if you don't know what these are, click here: http://www.emovieposter.com/learnmore/?page=s2_recreation); these look incredible on your wall, at a fraction of the cost of the original!

Normally, these posters would be in four different sets of auctions, but today you can buy any of them in this one very special auction. You would THINK that they would be very high priced, but actually, with hours to go, just the opposite is true!

As of this writing, there are EIGHTY THREE of these posters under just $10, and 139 under just $25, and almost every poster (all the way to the most expensive) is well under where the same or similar posters have sold for in the past (and remember that we have no "buyers premiums", that often turn good deals into not-so-good ones, and we only charge $12 U.S. shipping for ALL you get in the Part III (actual cost anywhere else)!

If you have been looking for a special poster to hang on your wall, this part of the auction has a lot of them, and come later today, they will ALL have new owners, because this is one auction where every item truly has no reserve, and truly sells to the highest bidder. Best of luck to those of you participate in this VERY special auction!

741 lobby cards, folded one-sheets, and more close in HOURS in Part IV of our December Major Auction at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/14.html. If the current bid prices stay where they are, there will be lots and lots of sensational "deals" made at EVERY price level, because a high percentage of the items are currently FAR under where the same or similar items have sold for in the past!

Just HOW low are the current bid prices? As of this writing, there are 115 items at under just $10, and 257 under just $20! And unlike many auctions, there are no tricks or fine print to these auctions, that turn "steals" into not-so-good deals. First and foremost, there are no massive $19 "minimum buyers premiums" (in fact, there are no buyers premiums at all) so "$1" is really $1. Plus, no matter how many of these you buy today (Thursday), the U.S. shipping is just $12, even if you get 100 of them (actual cost anywhere else).

And using our unique "Pay and Hold" system, you can get all you want over a three week period (six weeks outside the U.S.) and you still pay just $12 U.S. shipping for everything as long as it fits in one package safely. And you can pay for your purchases entirely within our "Checkout 2.0", which even works with "Pay and Hold" orders, which saves you a fortune on shipping!

Are you only interested (or mostly interested) in a specific genre, star, studio, or decade? Don't forget to use our "Search Filters" which are located to the left of our auction galleries. For example, in the case of these lobby card, folded one-sheets (and more!) auctions, you can use the search filters to quickly look at JUST the lobby cards or just the one-sheets by clicking on those Search Filters. Or say you just want to see the horror/sci-fi items! You can see just those 102 horror/sci-fi items in this auction by clicking on the Search Filter that says "horror/sci-fi", and the same is true for all the other filters, like "cowboy western"  (59 items), "Alfred Hitchcock" (25 items), "1930s" (171 items), "Boris Karloff" (19 items), "herald" (four great horror ones!) and on and on!

Using these Search Filters well makes your time spent in our galleries FAR more productive, and once you get used to them, you won't know how you ever lived without them (and there is no other auction site that has similar Search Filters that work like ours do!). So why not start looking over these 741 lobby cards, folded one-sheets, and more right now, because you will need some extra time to look over this many fine items. Best of luck to all of you who participate in this very special auction!

I want to tell you about the 159 great oversized items (campaign books, 24sheets, billboard posters, paperbacked posters, tri-fold posters, etc) that close Sunday at 3 PM (NOT at 7 PM like our Tuesday and Thursday auctions) in the FINAL Part V of our December Major Auction at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/15.html. Why are there "only" 159 items? Because all of these need to be sent in flat packages that are larger than our standard size packages OR in tubes that are longer than our standard size tubes.

But what this part of the auction lacks in quantity, it sure makes up for in quality! Not only does it contain a large number of very desirable items, but it also contains a lot of incredibly rare items! There are some very unusual sizes like 24-sheets and advertising billboard posters, but there are also more "standard" sizes like half-sheets and inserts, which are included because they are paperbacked and need to be shipped in large flat packages.

So you really want to check out all of these items, especially because, if the current bid prices stay where they are, there will be lots and lots of sensational "deals" made at EVERY price level, because a high percentage of the items are currently FAR under where the same or similar items have sold for in the past! And as we said above, some of these are so rare that we have never seen them sold in the past!

So why not start looking over these 159 really oversized items right now, because you will need some extra time to look over this many fine items of so many different types. Best of luck to all of you who participate in this very special part of the auction, which concludes our December Major Auction!

You won't get any argument from me on that!

Did you know that most collectors and dealers have discovered that consigning to us is more profitable than selling on eBay (and no work at all)?

We recently observed the following completely unsolicited exchange on an online movie poster forum. One member posted this:

"Does anyone use eBay for selling and if so what is your preferred settings for the auction? I don't believe that starting your auction at .99 is logical. I would rather do the 'buy now' or start the auction at a percentage of the value of the item."

Within minutes, another member posted the following response:

"I was selling on eBay got too hard and time draining - i now send all my posters to Bruce at eMoviePoster.com when i want to sell now - after fees you still get a great price on average without all the work. Quite often a lot more than you would get on eBay. Highly recommend you look into it."

We KNOW for an absolute certainty that the above is true of a high percentage of collectors, because we have over 1,700 consignors, and a healthy percentage of those are collectors who USED to sell on eBay, but who quit for exactly the reasons the above person wrote on that forum.

In addition, a very high percentage of DEALERS now use our service as well. Some send us their slow-moving inventory, some send us their high end items where they know we will reach a far wider audience than they could on eBay, and some send all their inventory when they are looking to retire or switch businesses.

In the past two years, two of the best known dealers (both of whom have been in the hobby for decades), Dwight Cleveland and Dominique Besson, decided to consign HUGE portions of their inventories to us, even though they could have sold the items themselves, or consigned them to other auctions.

In addition, we were consigned the entire estates of half a dozen very long term collectors who passed away during those two years. Those collectors left instructions with their heirs to have their collections auctioned through us, both because they knew we would get their heirs the most money overall, but also because, even more importantly, they knew that we would be 100% honest in the auctioning of their collections (especially because, as is often the case, the heirs knew very little about the hobby).

And their trust was not misplaced in the slightest! We carefully inventory every single item, and auction everything, down to the last item, and the consignors are treated 100% honestly in every possible way.

It is not just very long time collectors who use our services. The past few years has seen two of the very foremost collectors of "newer" posters, Holiday Russell and Mel Hutson, turn to eMoviePoster.com when they decided it was time to sell a large portion of their collections!

And know that our next major auction will be sometime in the spring, perhaps April or May, and it is not to early to consign today! Realize that many other auction houses start their auctions by pulling out items that did not sell in their previous auctions, and that can be a large number of items, so they may have half of their auction ready before they even start.

But in OUR major auctions, we ALWAYS "start from scratch", because we actually sell everything we auction. So we currently have nothing for our spring major auction (except for some duplicated items from the just-ended one), and there is a great incentive for people to consign now rather than later, because we always use the first example of each item we are consigned, and we use the earliest consignments in our pre-auction publicity!

If YOU have items you would like to turn into cash, please join the over 1,700 others who have consigned to us. Whether you have a small number of items or a truckload, or whether you have expensive items or affordable ones, or whether you are a recent collector or have collected for decades, or whether you are solely a collector, or solely a dealer or both, we are sure you will find that (as the forum member said), "after fees you still get a great price on average without all the work. Quite often a lot more than you would get on eBay"!

I did wonder about this.  Very surprising.  And heart warming...

If you have looked at our current 999 folded one-sheets, you might ask yourself "Why are HALF of them closing in hours at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/13.html still at just $1 to $5 with hours to go (and a QUARTER of them at just $1)?"

The answer might lie in its taking place right after our just-concluded December Major auction or right before the Christmas holiday, but a far BETTER question to ask yourself is "Why am I not bidding on these super-low priced posters, which include many rarities from all years and genres?"!

Remember that when we say "$1", we really mean "$1" and NOT "$1, plus $19 buyers premium" found on another auction site. At these prices they cost less than wrapping paper (so you could get a bunch of these and use them that way, but to us that would be a sin).

But you could buy a bunch and start a collection, or you could slap them on eBay at $9.99 each and make a bundle, or you could sell them from your website (we can provide buyers with unwatermarked giant images of their purchases, so that is super easy to do with virtually NO work on your part). So why not go to the above link right now and start "stealing" some fun movie posters?

Plus, no matter how many of these you buy today, the U.S. shipping is just $12, even if you get 100 of them (actual cost anywhere else). And using our unique "Pay and Hold" system, you can get all you want over a three week period (six weeks outside the U.S.) and you pay just $12 U.S. shipping for everything as long as it fits in one package safely.

And you can now pay for your purchases entirely within our "Checkout 2.0", which even works with "Pay and Hold" orders, which saves you a fortune on shipping! So why not start looking over these 999 folded one-sheets right now, and start finding that perfect poster to display in your home, one that may well cost you less than a cup of coffee at Starbucks, and will surely give you many years of viewing pleasure?
