Very nice line up of cards.

One question though.  Why the inclusion of the Man with the Golden Gun cards?  Was this due to the tenuous link of Christopher Lee, the horror master?  Or the horror that was Britt Ekland's casting and acting?

I don't make a big deal out of it when people send pretty marginally Halloweeny items like those. I would think they might well have done better in the regular auction.

Oh, what?  Do people consign and then request exposure in a certain auction?  Would have thought you would be the person to judge that, being your business 'n' all.

Oh, what?  Do people consign and then request exposure in a certain auction?  Would have thought you would be the person to judge that, being your business 'n' all.

It is kind of the other way around. We usually get 5 to 10 consignments per DAY, totaling thousands of items per week. I can't go through every single item looking for items for the Halloween auction, so unless they say they are sending for that auction it goes into the regular auction (although we try to catch the obviously much better items).

What goes in the Halloween auction is the items that people specifically send for it. Most often people restrict what they send to items that clearly make sense. But sometimes someone who sent ten items will include one that is only very marginally Halloween related, and sometimes we take it out, but sometimes we leave it in. We don't consider it a big deal either way.

I think you would be amazed to see just how difficult it is to run 3,000 unique auctions a week!

I wouldn't be amazed.  I am a project manager by trade, sort of used to organising things and people but this is with an end in sight.

Yours is an on-going operations exercise and every now and then, I look at the sort of steps I think would be involved to manage your enterprise, plus then the Pay and Hold stuff, payments back and forth, and then my head hurts and I give up.  I think the processes you must have in place must really be rigorously written and thoroughly upheld.

I think it is all really quite amazing.  And difficult.

I want to tell you about a great buying opportunity on our auctions closing today, where you can practically "steal" many posters, because we have 539 rolled one-sheets and 460 "special" rolled posters (movie & non-movie) closing in hours at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/14.html, and the current bid prices on many are so low that you will have trouble believing them!

Do YOU have an empty space on your walls just crying out to be filled by some fun poster that you simply tack up to the wall (just like you did in college or in your first apartment)? Or are you thinking that it would be great to start collect something that is "affordable" and yet offers tons of viewing pleasure, but that posters cost too much these days to do that, and that even a cheap repro has to cost $9.99 or more?

Well think again, because 196 of these one-sheets and "special" posters currently have NO BID at all with hours to go (so $1 can take those), and a WHOPPING 475 of them are still at just $1 each or have no bid, and TWO THIRDS are at just $1 to $4! And our $1 is REALLY "$1", and NOT "$1, plus $19 buyers premium", as seen in some other auctions.

What are you waiting for? A gold-plated invitation? Go to the above link NOW and find some great posters for your walls that will cost you next-to-nothing, and will give you endless viewing pleasure!

You might be wondering why are we auctioning BOTH one-sheets AND "special" posters together. It is because, in the past, we have auctioned solely "newer" unfolded one-sheets and newer rolled "special" posters in separate auctions. But we find that many of the same people buy both of these types of posters, and by offering them in the same set of auctions, they can have a wider variety of items to choose from, and they can combine both kinds of purchases in a single tube, saving a LOT on shipping.

Note that while we WILL continue to auction "older" special posters (travel, war, magic, etc), it will ONLY be in a separate auction of JUST special posters (and by "older", we mean those from the 1960s and before). This is because the type of people who buy those older special posters are likely not as interested in the "newer" unfolded one-sheets!

Finally, note that the roughly half of this auction that contains special posters are some of the absolute most "fun" auctions we do! There is a wonderful variety of all sorts of "odd" posters (some connected to movies, but not standard movie posters, and many that have no connection to movies at all). There are also lots of repro commercial posters of great movie titles, and you can likely buy one from a classic title for very little money!

In all, there are so many unusual types of posters that we HIGHLY recommend that all of you make an effort to look at all of these posters in our gallery format (and you are sure to enjoy doing so, even if you end up not buying any, and solely "window shop")!

Everyone can now view a complete Preview Gallery at http://www.emovieposter.com/online/previews/2016halloween/partii/, which shows all of the 505 rolled and folded posters of all kinds in Part II of our 17th Annual Halloween Auction that will be auctioned 10/20 to 10/27!

If you haven't already, also go to http://www.emovieposter.com/online/previews/2016halloween/parti/, which shows all of the 254 great horror/sci-fi lobby cards (including a few complete and incomplete sets) in Part I of our 17th Annual Halloween Auction that will be auctioned 10/18 to 10/25

Each gallery includes all the lot numbers, so you can see them in the exact order in which they will be auctioned! Note that not only do we provide you with the exact condition grade that will be on the auction, but you can also click on any image and see the "super-sized" version, so that you can really know the exact condition of each item long in advance of the auction, so you can better prepare your bidding strategy.

Share this post with anyone who loves great horror/sci-fi, whether they collect movie paper or not! Spread the word! And return Monday when we will add the preview gallery of Part III, the final part!

I want YOU to stop whatever you are doing right now and check out all we have going on at eMoviePoster.com, because "the joint is jumping" in so many great ways!

First, we have a truly wonderful selection of 999 vintage single 8" x 10" stills (a great selection covering all years, stars, and genres!) ending in a day, on SUNDAY AFTERNOON beginning at 3 PM CST (NOT at 7 PM like our Tuesday and Thursday auctions) at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/15.html, and whether or not you have yet discovered the wonderful hobby of collecting vintage stills, I am certain you will be very interested in this auction!

What makes this auction so special? The auction includes a large number of wonderful portraits, including lots from the top stars of the 1920s to 1960s, and many of stars that you almost never see stills on, like Charlie Chaplin, Boris Karloff, Leslie Howard, and many more! There are some really wonderful stills from horror movies, plus there are many images from some of the best remembered movies (like Casablanca!), and also lots of great images from 1960s and later movies that are rightly regarded as classics (like The Great Escape)!

Second,  on Tuesday we have 999 folded one-sheets closing at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/13.html and they contain our usual great assortment of one-sheets from all years and genres. This is the single most collected size, and we are the ONLY major auction that has HONEST $1, no reserve auctions!

Third, on Thursday we have 999 complete and incomplete lobby card sets closing at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/14.html and there are a lot of "better" titles included. You may be able to buy ENTIRE sets for little more than most dealers would charge for a single scene card from that same title!

Fourth, you can now view a complete Preview Gallery of both Parts I and II of our 17th Annual Halloween Auction! Go to http://www.emovieposter.com/online/previews/2016halloween/parti/ to see all of the 254 great horror/sci-fi lobby cards (including a few complete and incomplete sets) in Part I that will be auctioned 10/18 to 10/25 and also go to http://www.emovieposter.com/online/previews/2016halloween/partii/ to see all of the 505 rolled and folded posters of all kinds in Part II that will be auctioned 10/20 to 10/27!

Do YOU also have "better" movie paper items you have considered selling? NOW is the time to consign to our December Major Auction that starts 11/27 (the deadline to consign is October 28th). Go to http://www.emovieposter.com/learnmore/?page=consign_major#december for full details!

There has NEVER been a better time to be a movie paper collector! Visit the above links and start feasting your eyes on all that is offered. But we have to warn you that you may get "sensory" overload from viewing so much great material at once, and you may get a headache from having to decide which items you most want and want to bid on!

You guys are really behind the times! Several years back we created a "Want List" feature that does exactly what you want.

Over 3,000 of our users have saved Want Lists, and since you can have dozens of them if you want, there are nearly 50,000 that have been created.

I am off today, but I will post instructions on how to create them on Monday. It is super easy, and you will never again "miss" something you want.

Here is the 'Did You Know' faq/page on EMP on how to create a Want List.

http://www.emovieposter.com/tips_archive.php?id=1106&searchterms=want list

It really is the bee's knees. Every time a title(s) in my Want List comes up for auction, I get an email from EMP with a link to that listing.

I could go on and on about how incredible our selection of 999 vintage single 8" x 10" stills is, or how you only have a few more hours until they start to end, beginning at 3 PM CST (NOT at 7 PM like our Tuesday and Thursday auctions) at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/15.html, BUT I WON'T!

Why? Because you REALLY need to see these for yourself, to get an idea of how wonderful they are, and you WILL need some time to look over this many great stills, so why not start right now by clicking on the above link?
