Ever have a problem with a disappearing post (you write it and it vanishes)?

I discovered something this morning. If you type out a post and click submit, most times it goes through fine and it posts.

If someone else posts while you were typing, it gives you a message "another reply was posted and you can review your post".

Either way you are fine.

BUT, I found out the hard way that if you happened to click "submit" EXACTLY when someone else submits theirs, then yours just vanishes!

And by Murphy's Law, this tends to happen when you have just typed out a long reply (this happened to me) and I had to retype the whole reply!

So now, before I click "submit" I use "Control A" which selects all the text, and then I copy it, and that way if it does vanish, I can paste it in to a new reply.

I do the same thing (copy text) before posting as I have had long posts vanish. No idea why it happens but it does.

Interesting you ask that Bruce.  I dont think it has to do with someone else replying.  I replied to something last night and it was gone this morning.  I thought I must have just not hit post or something until I read this.  It had never happened to me before, and I am pretty sure there was not anyone else in that thread when I was.

It happened to me last night also.  I was the 1st to respond to the guy who bought two Last Crusades and was screwed over on the first purchase...

This has just been happening to me, it is as though you are on a timer...  I have never had any problems before, but trying to post some photo's has took me over an hour as the posts kept getting wiped off, and this happened about 10-12 times in the last hour....??
