How sweeet!
Poor animals (and little children) always have to suffer to make us 'grown-ups' happy for moment.
Then again I laugh a lot while watching FUNNY CLIPS TV show crap. Laughing and smiling is important.
Here's a McQueen 'Cat-Story' from my book:
(THE GETAWAY)
Scoring the film would be one of several hurdles. Peckinpah had wanted to commission composer Jerry Fielding whose outstanding work on The Wild Bunch and Straw Dogs had earned Academy Award nominations. However, McQueen’s contract stipulated that he had the final cut and approval of the film, which was a rare thing for an actor at that time. Although Fielding had constructed a score for the film, just weeks before the premiere McQueen insisted on giving the film a contemporary, pop-culture musical score by Quincy Jones despite Peckinpah’s objections. To compound the problem Jones had to deliver it in only two weeks. Peckinpah fought hard for Fielding’s score and when it became clear that McQueen would not change his mind, Peckinpah took out advertisements in the trade press to thank his dear friend Jerry Fielding publicly for his work. McQueen’s attitude was uncompromising and admitted, “As far as I'm concerned, being difficult is the only way to get things done in this business. Compromises don't make any sense.” Fielding, who was on very friendly terms with McQueen until the incident, would not speak to McQueen again until Katy Haber organized Peckinpah’s fiftieth birthday surprise party at Fielding’s house in 1975. Among the 300 guests was almost anyone who had ever worked with Peckinpah, including McQueen and MacGraw. During the post-production of The Getaway in late 1972, Steve and Ali had been regular guests at the Fielding residence and on one occasion the couple had presented two kittens to the two daughters of the Fieldings. At Peckinpah’s party McQueen asked Fielding's daughter what the names of the cats were. ‘’Ali and Gringo’’ was her answer. “Why Gringo?’’ McQueen enquired. The young girl replied, “In this house it is forbidden to name anything or anybody Steve!’’
