Early Swedish Horror
« on: March 21, 2012, 04:03:22 PM »
The early Swedish posters are certainly unique and have an often very different style to them. A few from various films:

DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE

FRANKENSTEIN

THE MUMMY

THE INVISIBLE MAN

MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE

THE WALKING DEAD

NIGHT KEY

THE BLACK ROOM

THE BLACK CAT (1941)

Thanks for kicking this off... here is a Bride of Frank.  Any word on a Dracula?  I would love to see what the artists dreamed up...

Harry, this poster is for the 1941 film of the same name, not the 1934 version with both Karloff and Lugosi.  ;)

So we have a pretty good list going so far... if you could only choose *one* which would it be?

That's a real tough question Matt. Most probably, I would choose "M", with "Things to come" and "the walking dead" in a close second... and throw that "Metropolis" there too...

If I had to choose just one it would be (maybe obviously) the Mummy.

If the Mummy was gone I would settle on M quite happily.

If I had to pick just one, up to this point, it would be the poster for Frankenstein.

(The red, black and white version of JEKYLL is a close second, tho, for me, too).
