I thought it was supposed to be a prequel of some sort but it looks like its a remake (or reboot)

yeah pretty much.. just more bang 'em up stuff.
probably will be completely lacking in story

Yeah, cos Tom Hardy is known for doing stuff with no story.

The first trailer for all such movies is Action.  Later trailers give a hint of Story.

Oh ye of little faith.
George Miller writes or co-writes most of his own projects.
I have no doubts that he has an interesting and cohesive script for Fury Road.

Sure, there will be lots of splosions, gunfire and over-the-top violence.... just like in real life.   wynk
