One thing that sticks in my mind from the '80s was seeing a double bill for Children of the Corn / A Nightmare on Elm Street. Elm St was big at the time, and maybe spawned the most sequels ever???
Also Ghostbusters, Gremlins & Puberty Blues remain vivid. Ahh, the days of my youth ...

You may have to go Friday the 13th for most sequels ever...

Actually the Japanese Tora-san series is credited with the most sequels (48). Also the Zatoichi series has more films (26) than FRIDAY THE 13TH. But if the FRIDAY movies keep making money, they might beat both of them in fifty years.....

These guys gave the sequels a fair crack as well. I suppose the '80s is when the whole sequel craze began.

Yeah, you're right. Bulldog Drummond, Thin Man, Charlie Chan etc. Penny Singleton made about 30 Blondie movies from memory. Looks like sequels were money spinners right from the beginning.

"And don't call me Ari!"  :D

I love the 80s!

I went through my favorite movies and chose one poster per movie.

That's right.  You have a problem with Tracy Lord?  I sure don't.

Yeah, but the poster is funny, and you can't have an 80s listing without her name on it.

Nice selection, Z-Man!
Some of the very best films of the decade.
Really dig HIGHLANDER and POPE OF GREENWICH VILLAGE.
