Projector Resource site
« on: December 29, 2011, 07:35:36 PM »
I was just reading through one of the recent threads on setups and figured for those who are interested in setting up a new home theater or replacing their existing one - check out this site http://www.projectorcentral.com/ Most may already know of it but there is a pretty neat calculator you can use to determine distance settings for your projector, seating and such.

Great site cj..I need a better proj for sure..
My cheapo lcd projector is "great" but,at the same time "sh*tty too."..
The panasonic alternative is something i would think would be more rewarding..

Cheers man,

Stew

Projector Central is a good resource.  In addition to the projector size/distance calculator, they have others for riser height/distance, perceived resolution vs distance, and I believe, audio first reflection points.

Projectors are still in a state of heavy change.  Prices are coming down and there are some major improvements in anamorphic and 3D in inexpensive projectors.  I am planning on staying with my 2 year old Epson 8100 for another couple of years while things settle down a bit.

I installed a jvc x7 in my bedroom a little over a year ago with a screen innovations 100" fixed screen. The picture is breathtaking.

in 3 or 4 years I'll upgrade to a new jvc 4k projector. Saw them at CES in January, they are ridiculous.
