No I DON'T.  Funny, I had this discussion with Mel yesterday.  To me, this is completely ludicrous.  We've already talked about it, but I find it ridiculous that people would spend money on REJECTED ART.  I mean, where does it end?  I already don't understand buying proof posters, but this takes the cake.  This art was rejected for a reason: It is not good.  The studio decided it didn't sell the movie and opted for something different.  When I was at DreamWorks, we trashed so many Gladiator mockups.  Dozens.  Who cares?  Agencies propose a bunch of different ideas and the best one gets chosen.  And now the rejected one sells for $5k, just because it's rare?  Hahaha... So stupid!!!

Sorry Mark, but I really don't get it.

T

Perhaps we are living in a time when MONEY is at an all time high and TASTE is at an all time low??

100 lots in and HA has done $284,460.00

nobody else in this business does that. Nobody

Sean told me that HA's recent ads say they have sold more than $100million in movie poster auctions since they began

again, nobody else in this business does that. Nobody

Heritage stands alone at the top of the heap

can't argue with any of that

To put it into perspective...they BUY from other major auction houses because they can get more when they sell them...

We are almost to the Keaton lobby cards that they poached from Julien's auction

EXPECT some absurd results...

Looks like it's going to be a very low auction.  A lot of stuff is going for way less than it has recently.

I'm written about this poster before

especially impressive since one sold on ebay for US $3,338.00 just 3 days ago...someone kicking themselves

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-WWI-POSTER-TREAT-EM-ROUGH-JOIN-THE-TANKS-LARGE-FORMAT-EXTREMELY-RARE-/163155672441?hash=item25fcd5fd79%3Ag%3Azp4AAOSw9zxbT4UL&nma=true&si=PpT0rWN%252FVNCkMi6A75FWLcL4LrM%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Shows the gret deals that can be had on ebay, for sure.

I just hope the poster is in the same condition as the pics in that auction show. According to the time stamps, the pix were all taken 12.5 years ago, on Jan 2, 2006. (Or maybe the cam reverted to a reset, default date?)  8)

Star Wars stuff was simply insane.  $20k for an Empire poster?
Everything was quickly going past my limits.
Surprised at how many of the original artwork items just never got bids.

and then one that I was sure would be blown away, and my pre-bid held.  Go figure.

you mean $26,400.00

it is more than double what the biggest result is for the poster elsewhere sold just 3 months ago

What an amazing auction for Heritage this weekend. A big congratulations to Grey for continuing to be engine of growth for the hobby.
An auction with not even 950 lots (their smallest in quite some time) and where not even a single poster reached the $50,000 mark - let alone the $100,000 mark which they own, and yet still the auction brings in over $1.6 million in sales.
A staggering number.

My only win from the Sig auction, but happy w/it as it's in pretty nice shape.

Only bid on 1 SW poster as the prices were too high as others have noted, but of course lost.
