Grief, not at all.  Poster-wise, I stick to just the quads and 1 Sheets in an aim to maintain some parenthetic control over the spending and the space.

As to your second point, if Quad and 1 Sheet focus is a definition of best (or let's say, most complete) then mayyyyybe  :-\   If one asks for a variety of art, sizes, countries and the like, then not at all.

But thanks for the comment.

Well, that's extremely disappointing.  I've been telling everyone that our forum hosts the #1 Bond collector in the world.  So get at it, I hate being called a liar.

That is also someone we should try to get to join our little community.  :)

Email sent to Thomas...

As to T's point, consider me thus inspired.  But the only thing I am no. 1 at, is being Simon.  Everything else I am a long way off, to be sure.

For those also interested, the Bonds were also paired with other films. There were quads made for

YOLT / FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE
GOLDFINGER / A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS
THUNDERBALL / HANG 'EM HIGH
DAF / GOLD (Roger Moore & Susanna York goldmine flick)
SPY WHO LOVED ME / REVENGE OF THE PINK PANTHER

Remember this one, too:
Goldfinger / Thunderball / Thunderbird 6
Best wishes,
Adam

Since 2010, the registration method, as laid out in the forum, is to send an email with one's desired username to apfholiday@gmail.com

He's never written requesting to join, so the reg. process could not "have let him down." ;)

But I will send him a note and see if he'd like to join.

Stay tuned.

Some pretty good results at Emovie today.  I don't buy linenbacked posters, but I was going to make an exception.  Unfortunately, it went for too much.

Super impressed that what I consider a worthless (trimmed!!!) Star Wars quad sold for $2,440.

Just shows how people will toss money at anything SW-related, even if damaged (trimmed).

I dont get it.  dontknow.gif

But shows the fan base is strong, that's for sure.

Trimmed to me is one of the worth thing that could happen to a poster.  Any poster with missing parts is instantly worthless imo.

I just read the description.

3" cut off the top!  crying

Gotta wonder why "the cutter" would have chopped off such a wide piece. To put in a frame, maybe?

to display in a lift station. They use a smaller poster for that purpose

This is crazy to me, mostly because a certificate of authenticity means NOTHING.

I would think that a COA from an auction house like Hakes has some meaning. Their last auction took in $2.35 million.

It's the COAs that people print in their basements, and include with their ebay sales, that are totally worthless.

I don't think ANY COA has any validity, because there is NO WAY to know FOR SURE.  ZERO.  NADA.  RIEN.  NONE.  I think I've said it before, but I have a friend who can forge ANY signature to perfection after seeing it only once.  It's a skill and I'm sure he's not the only one.

Sigs are a tricky slope, no doubt about it. Fakes/forgeries run rampant, that's for sure.

So i get understand what you mean from that POV.

I should make a slight correction, they would be posters you would see riding a lift (aka in the USA, an escalator) going into or leaving from a tube station

... I have a friend who can forge ANY signature to perfection after seeing it only once.

does he do autographs to defraud people?

Quite.

My question is always, what certifies the COA?

I agree. Provenance means everything

At risk of sounding pedantic these trimmed posters were pasted up on the walls of platforms and walkways - never lifts or escalator walls.
