Hi Richie!  Anything end up new for the R. Halegua Museo de Chandler?  Okie

not in this sale Okie. the only things they had in this sale that I needed were backed. I already got a Double Indemnity insert.

of course, I had recently picked up 35,000 posters, so I've been partying with those

Doing the maths, if you sold 200,000, you'd only be left with 100,000...

Oh yeah, I was following the sale and then I completely forgot.  Thanks for the reminder.  Just checked the results, and it is so beyond ridiculous.  I should sell my Star Wars collection... hahaha... I'd be a very rich man.  Really, I don't know if it's the Sothebys name, or just people not having a brain (or too much money to spend), but it doesn't make sense to me.  And you have to add 20% on top of that?  Am I right?  Whatever.

I was just checking HA's recent sales and paused at these results.  So beyond ridiculous.  I own multiple copies of each titles (more so for Jedi) and needless to say I got them for a fraction of these prices.  What are people thinking?

They probably don't 'collect' especially like we do (in our varying degrees even amongst each other), and just want THAT poster RIGHT now.

I bought my first poster from Dave forever ago, overpaid for a Raiders 40x60, yet I like to think in doing so I paid for my education and cut my teeth into the hobby...

Agreed, absolutely bonkers! None of these are even rare posters. They are desirable, but geez...

That Joker is also the "mis-spelt" version. I don't feel comfortable with the story that this and the other very badly "mis-spelt" styles originating from SE Asia were recalled. Where did that information come from? How many IMAX cinemas are there in Thailand/Singapore that would require so many different US international versions to be printed? The correctly spelt playing card style has "Imax is a registered trademark wording" and a different credit layout. The colour intensity on the reverse is noticeably different as well. Why would that be if the printer simply had to reprint posters with a correct spelling of "experience"?

That’s about the going rate. The artist is very popular in the movie print scene and these are a small run (100). Most are long since settled in with collectors, so they don’t come up for sale very often at all.

Seeing the Laura half sheet sell for $1752 was quite a nice surprise, especially being paper-backed.

http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/archiveitem/2406960.html

I bought mine from Ebay about 10 years ago now and paid around $500 for it if i recall correctly.

Sidenote: The R1952 half sheet doesn't reach those prices but is considerably scarcer than the original 44 release.

I actually think these are solid deals for older Moss prints.

The estimate on the CFTBL was absurdly low for original artwork - probably in an effort not to scare away too many potential bidders right away  eyeroll

I agree, Chris.  That's pretty darn cool art for the Creature and it's the real deal from the 1950s. Okie
