Does anyone know where I can buy a cheap style C repro?  My son wants it above his bed and I don't want to use my original, for obvious reasons ;)

Although he has raised good prices slightly over the years, Todd has always sold the cleanest copies of the bootlegs that I know of for years. Star Wars style C Bootleg from Feiertag

Same controversy as when Cinemasterpieces gave away/sold these. Tough ethical Q. OK to sell even if fully disclosed?

I believe these should be stamped "unauthorized reprint" on the back to protect future buyers.

PS He's also selling Style B bootlegs:

Only problem is a stamp on the back could be hidden by backing the poster, if someone was wanting to try and intentionally deceive an uninformed buyer.

Some kind of unobtrusive stamp, in indelible ink and smaller font, done on the front bottom border might work better.

Didn't somebody try that a couple of years ago?

Very cool recent article on StarWars.com about features of the Style A poster:

http://www.starwars.com/news/7-things-you-didnt-know-about-the-original-star-wars-poster

Highlights:

The poster was not available in theaters for at least a month after it started playing:

The droids were added by a second artist:

Normally not to keen on sigs on MPs but gotta admit this was a pretty good bargain given two top stars signed it. Do y'all agree these sigs added 2.5K?

I don't believe for a second that these signature are legit (but that's me, I never do) and this poster is in really bad shape for a poster that can be easily found rolled and mint.  So to answer your question... no.

Noting that some guy named "Doug Moore" got these signatures on certain dates and locations doesn't prove or verify that these sigs are legit, either.

They could be real, but there's no way to really know, so Im with T on this one.

Smart forgerers add quotes and little drawings to make the signatures more genuine.  It's nothing new and like Jeff said, there is no way to know for sure.

And did the fact that this was sold by mrs.miniver (Matt Shapiro) make any difference to the buyer, I wonder?

I don't know who Matt Shapiro is, but even if he's the most knowledgeable dealer in the whole wide world, he has zero way of knowing if those sigs are legit unless he was there in person.

I agree and am not defending the guy or validity of the sigs. As you said, unless he got those autographs himself, there's no real way to prove they are genuine.

He's the same seller who's had a lot of high priced SW stuff and other expensive posters listed for years, saying buying them would be "economy-proof."

Here are his current poster listings, sorted by the highest first, with some other SW material in the top tier:
