Posters for movies that came out on your birthday
« on: April 16, 2011, 06:56:26 PM »
What has Hollywood given you on your birthday? Everybody who's been alive for more than ten years has had their birthday fall on a Friday, meaning at some point in the history of cinema the movie world gave you a present. Some presents are awesome, some presents you don't bother to unwrap, but I'm curious to see what movies have been made especially for you!

I was born on August 13th, which is an easy date to find Fridays for because one is a Friday the 13th (No "Friday the 13th" movies have come out on my birthday...). Maybe you have some in recent memory or maybe you'll have to dig a little, but I'm bored at work and want to have fun.

Here are some of mine:

Note that August 13th was the UK release date for District 9. It counts.

August 6!

I hate you for that. The Iron Giant is one of my favorite movies. I'm jealous.

I had it in reverse, I loved the poster, saw it had my birthday, got the poster, THEN saw the film, I was scared I would hate the movie, but luckily its great.
A good long time collector and ex restorer, some of the older members will remember (Susan) shares the day with me.

I'm not sure about my birthday, but my mother in law's birthday is 12 November 1955, which should be a recognizable date to all you Back to the Future fans.

I never considered posters for my birthday, but I have some comic strip art from my birthday (meaning the very day I was born, not stuff for my birthday year after year)

I have no idea if I have any posters released on my birthday, I do however have 2 pieces of original comic strip art for the day I was born
a Dick Tracy & a Li'l Abner daily strip. Someone offered me a Pogo daily once, but they were asking like 3x it's value so I said they could [censored]

I think I meant to add more into that. Bram stoker's came out on my birthday just not the day I was born.

Well, nothin' on 1968-12-06, but this close:

Don't like or remember it, just my little sis watched it many many times during the VCR era and would start crying if we protested.

But my fave 1968 MP (own a rolled original) is:

But more noteworthy than the foregoing is the fact that somebody's bday is today:

I always liked Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sundance.  Do you remember Benny Hill in the movie as the toymaker?  Heck, I'm in my 50s and wouldn't mind watching it again right now, if it wasn't already past my bedtime!  Okie
