That is one happy looking grandson with a wonderful piece of art.
Great photo.

He indeed looks happy. No doubt about it And a nice heirloom to be able to pass down the generations, that's for sure.

In looking at it, it doesn't look like a stone lito (to me) but more like a silkscreen type print or maybe done in some other medium? Here is the stone litho for the US OS, as a comparison. There is more detail in the shading, texture and rich color on the poster.

But it's still a very cool piece, regardless. And something, I'm sure, that family cherishes and always will.

Beautiful stone litho for the film, 365 Nights in Hollywood (1934)

I dont know this movie. I found a brief synopsis:

Down-on-his-luck film director Jimmie Dale takes a job at a fly-by-night acting school. He is drawn into the plans of the school's owner to bilk a wealthy young man out of the funds he has supplied to shoot a movie starring pretty student Alice Perkins. But Jimmie hopes to bilk the bilkers by actually completing the movie as ostensibly planned.

Damn.  My kids are too old to be worth selling.  Perhaps I could convince the daughter to let me sell the grandson :)

While the above is litho is indeed beautiful, I was remembering that I had seen another version (same imagery) but with a bit more detail (note the rider on the horse and the horse itself,  and the figure on the right, as a couple examples).

I'm thinking this version was the first release OS, that was created. The one above, was a later RR, redone/redrawn, but based on this poster art.

This, to me, is another stunning and amazing poster. It gets two of these..  bed1 bed1

Great thread Jeff, glad it's still going strong. A few I found in my old emails - don't know the source - hopefully haven't been previously posted:

Stone lithography creates/created beautiful and delicate imagery almost like no other. Let alone the artistry, work & time to produce and print posters that were done with this method.   bed1

US Pressbook shows this style also, but to my knowledge no copy has surfaced.
