Maybe you and Ari can meet each other... Unless you are Ari and it slipped your mind or vice versa...

Thanks for the link !!

No, I'm not Ari. Would be fun to meet I suppose :)
I'll be there from Sept 7th till 15th I guess. My girlfriend
has an exhibtion of her jewelry there. She's also painting,
her very first painting became the movie poster of my second film:

So we have two things in common :)

Yes, a lot of joy. I made a film about the GT for its 40th anniversary,
and I used my car as leading actor. I have it for 13 years now.
The poster for the came out quite nice I think.

As a piece of car advertising, I love what you did with the image of the car on the poster.
Very simple (for art directors anyway!) but so effective in my opinion.
Best wishes,
Adam

Had an Opel GT myself years back, the 1.9L engine was very lazy, I spent a fortune on it, but it would never go as I wanted it too. Lovely car otherwise.

Sure, 90 PS (in the US even less thanks to exhaust regulations) was not enough. OK for
1968, but the car's design just promised more power...

I have a 2.0 E (injection) with 120 PS, that makes quite a difference... runs very well :)

Here's an early trailer of the film, with English subtitles (forgive the mistakes, I didn't
have the time to edit / upload a better version.)
(and the check out the other GT clips in my you tube channel, one I filmed from inside the only surviving GT racecar. What a toy!)

Just returned from Asia. Great country Thailand. Very laid-back people, much unlike the Chinese. Loved it there.

Thanks to the forum I found & visited Santi's movie poster shop at Siam Square ! Big fun.
He's a cool character, we had a good time.
His originals from the 60s/70s are rather expensive (up to 500 $ for 007 films), but not many copies (or none at all) exist of the really good titles anymore in Thailand. So my dreams of getting the two Thai WILD BUNCH posters collapsed right away.
But I bought a GODZILLA set (1991), a TOHO poster (Joe Cotton submarine, forgot the title), both KILL BILL's (nice different design)
and an ENTER THE DRAGON reproduction (would kill for the original). Nice price too.

Then we moved to HUA HIN and in a big shopping mall there was a stall with miscellaneous stuff, incl. posters!
Almost all from Thai movies but I found some nice ones: Escape from NY, River of no return (70s print) + 4x Chinese films (2x Chang Cheh/Ti Lung, 1x Chow Yun-Fat + another nice one I didn't find out details about yet.). All for $40.- !
They also had framed reproductions which cost 5 times as much as the originals I grabbed :). I love the reproduction
of the German SAYONARA double panel, one of my favorite German poster designs (see my original below).

Nice !!

I went to exact same place but it was very very hard to find.  Next time you go there, take time to go at the Art Gorillas gallery on 1st floor as they often have some great short art exhibition.

Agree the guy is a character !!  He is a passionate about movie poster :)

Are you sure he moved to Huan Hin because I met the guy in Siam Square in August ??

As you said, prices for good old stuff were a bit high indeed, but then price is negotiable.   I bought only piece, "Game of death" (1978), Thai original (well I hope so), unfolded at 46 USD - went to framer but will post picture here when I have it back.

By the way, he was selling "Enter the Dragon", Thai original, badly damaged at borders at 16 USD but I refused the offer (and I still wonder why)

great poster for the GT man. I also like the car you have. The engine power was the problem. I also had an Opel Kadet which I think had the same engine but went faster because it was much lighter. The Kadet was great for driving in Manhattan. It was a fairly narrow car and I was able to made my own third lane most of the time in Midtown and Downtown areas.. The other problem on Opels was that drive shaft that had the gear built in to the shaft and it would get stripped. If you didn't put enough torque to the assembly, it failed and if you put too much torque to the assembly it failed. I got tired of working on the cars.

cool pics at that store and that Dr No poster is top notch!

Take 5 minutes and watch this, it will make you at peace with 'GT performance'.
(I filmed it 2 years ago at the race track revival here at my hometown):

Looks like you had a great trip. The Toho poster you got is for Latitude Zero.

I know you were probably surprised at some of the prices on early Thai stuff (50s-60s), but in general how did they compare to the prices we see the stuff for on ebay all the time?  I've filled in most of the Thai Godzilla set over the past year or so and am always wondering if I am paying a "US-Collector Premium" as it were over what the items usually sell for in stores in Thailand (conveniently ignoring of course that I'd have to spend $1K+ on a plane ticket, plus hotel, taxis, etc to get any imagined savings), as the earlier stuff has been illusive and expensive.

The person shown in the thread below is known for selling fakes.
Kindly ignore the all thread and don't deal with this guy.
It was about time, don't you think ?
