This is a typical dreadful uber-suckass modern movie poster - a photo montage of the actors - not even a funny tag line.

THEMS FIGHTIN' WORDS. Love the poster, and the film. Id take that over Start wars anything, blade runner, spiderman, pulp fiction, or whatever else is cool these days.

And me, I'm with Ari on this one. Can't beat a classic "Z" movie.

Cool film and great poster.
I'm with Paul and Ari on VAMPIRE AND THE BALLERINA.
Maybe you mixed up your images, Mel?

Well Mel was certainly correct that the one-sheet blows compared to the awesomeness of one of the best scene cards ever:

I debated on that one.. as it is a bit better than the others. Personally, i just find a slew of small photo images all strung and lined up together in rows to be uninspiring. Perhaps that should be a sub thread-- "Poster That Do Not Inspire"  ;)

I think it works with Tree of Life because they're snapshots, like a photo album, of the character's lives. Since the movie is about the entire lifespan (and time span) of the characters, the poster fits textually. Also, Terrence Malick movies are symphonies for your eyes. They are beautiful pictures.

It is the great thing about how images or art affect people in various ways, and the opinions it generates. "Beauty in the eye of the beholder," as is oft quoted.

Was surfing around online a bit and came across this advance for the movie, OUR IDIOT BROTHER. IMHO, this poster is so blah and boring. It lacks any creative element.

And an over-photoshopped extravaganza (so it does get credit for that  :P ):

These are comical, in my opinion. The tag lines are downright silly and could they be any more posed? --

As bad as those Fright Night posters are, I'm sure the movie will be infinitely worse.

I saw those FRIGHT NIGHT banners on impawards.com today and I thought the same thing.
They suck as bad as the trailer.

Have to disagree, Mel.
That is a very cool, cult classic SCHLOCK poster...directed by John Landis (his directorial debut), featuring Oscar-winner Rick Baker's ape suit (with Landis inside of it, too).  Classic 'carry on' monster and maiden artwork.
I, for one, would love to own it.
Maybe you were thinking of another poster?

SCHLOCK, to me, is more camp. The artwork, stylized look of the ape, his expression and overall design and the blond babe are all done quite well. And it was created artwork, not some bad photos, simply cut and pasted, or overlapped together.

Sure, some camp can also be bad, but i find this appealing in that regard.

Yeah, if you love the Schlockthropus, you probably think Yoda - the winner of the 2011 Ugliest Dog in the World - is beautiful!
