Does leaning against your walls count for this thread?   ;D

I've had this for over 20 years - Bought it for $10 on eBay back in 2000 - Damaged, definitely theater used, but still... $10.  I've always adored this image and have thought how cool it would be to someday get restored and framed and, well, here we are!  Extra thanks to Ben at Bee Easy Restoration here in Denver for the restoration and Robert at Spotlight Displays too for being awesome with his help to make sure I measured it all right!

Starling,

I really appreciate it! I am a big believer in displaying the stuff I buy. Most of it is from movies I truly love!

That's a 6 sheet, right?  Very cool in that size.

Hey T, it's actually a three sheet!  But in no way less cool in this size.  It's my only three sheet and I am just impressed with how big it is.  I only have two walls in my house that this will fit on, haha.

I am always so impressed by so many others pieces.  Riley and Starling, yours are AMAZING!

Denver? I’m also in Denver!

Nice!  Hey, do you have any local shops that you visit for posters at all?  Not sure how long you've been here but ever since Cinemagraphics and Hollywood Poster went out, I've had to resort to online only and the occasional Facebook Marketplace add to find new stuff.

Yeah, that's what I meant, sorry.  6 sheets do not exist for Raiders.

I just checked and the last one Emovie has sold (out of 7) went for $1,500.  Not bad for a $10 investment ha!

Funny you mention that T, looking at past sales on eMovie is what made realize that I had something kinda valuable.  I used to have it tacked up to my ceiling in my basement in our music jam space next to the Zeppelin and Floyd and weird 1970's Lord of the Rings psychedelic stoner posters.  Haha.  But now, it can live out it's stabilized life in a frame and actually be the art that I've always thought it was!

I do not know of any local shops around here. I have only been here almost 6 years now. I don’t buy a ton of stuff, but will make an effort if something I really like comes up at one of the auctions!

Whoa, what a small world! A few weekends ago I watched the Bee Easy instagram video of the restoration of your very poster!  I randomly acquainted Ben through his eBay store and I have been meaning to go out to his studio to pickup a poster I am buying from him on eBay and to see some of the work in action. Pretty cool!  (I am also in Denver and just joined this forum.)

I too am in Denver (but we only moved here two years ago) and also am not aware of any shops but I have only recently started collecting again (not exactly sure why but I stopped in Jan 2019 and only restarted this July).

It does sound like Ben at Bee Easy sells posters (either through his ebay store or it sounds like also direct from his studio) although I think most of his titles are newer.

Would certainly be interested to find a good store around here though. I did try to google it a little while back and didnt find anything promising.

Hey Struz that's awesome.  Ben is super solid and does great work.  He does sell posters as well and if you ever do get a chance to get out there to see him, he has a ton in house.  He also does comic cons in a few state radius.  Pretty sure he's going to be at the Salt Lake one in a few weeks.  But he's really open to talking about the process too so if you are interested in getting anything restored, I feel good about recommending him.  Morgan is also stellar at the pencil work!  Cool peeps.

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've been able to post an update on my poster collecting! The past year and a half have been extremely busy for me as I worked on finishing university and making big changes in my life! (That unfortunately meant much less time and money for poster collecting and sharing. I've had to pass on some great opportunities and finds.)

One of those changes involved making a cross-country move from one side of the US to the other. With that came a change in living space after many years at my old apartment. The new apartment I have has been a major upgrade in terms of space and what I can do with my walls! At my old place I ran out of wall space - now even with those same frames up I have so much more space to work with!

Having so much more space also brought up the challenge of figuring out where everything should go and how to maximize my use of wall space. Not only did I have to work with my current framed posters, but also plan for what stuff I want up on my walls in the future! (I have an entire list of measured posters that I will order frames for when I have the opportunity!)

It's definitely been a learning process as I've had to work with some really awkward spaces that were sometimes just a tiny bit too small for what I originally planned as well as learning ow to hang up posters along stairways and high ceilings.

Staring off, here's what I got for the top of the stairs at the entrance to the apartment. I had to plan around the placement of the light switch and railing and I'd like to think it looks decent!

Next up is the living room area. This is still a major work in progress as I'm planning to get more posters framed and hung up in much of the empty space I still have here. I wanted to display the slasher posters together again and thought this looked best. I plan on expanding this with a few more slasher posters, a section for Albert Pyun Films (Radioactive Dreams, Vicious Lips, Alien From L.A.), and Doris Day/50s/60s one sheets and three sheets. I may also get a frame for a Thierry hates "French Grande" poster to swap out occasionally.

This is the TV area of the living room. I had to change my plans for this spot a few times due to the awkward sizing that was just a tiny bit too small for three one sheets and ended up with this. This is directly in front of the stairs to the entrance and third floor (which I will show soon).

Above the fireplace I decided to hang up my British quad frame. Originally I wanted to put my Valley Girls one sheets here, but the quad just seemed to fit perfectly.

Now here are the stairs to the third floor. I decided to place my sex comedy posters here on one side, with the Angel trilogy on the other side. It was difficult trying to find the perfect placement for these to make sure they lined up and looked good since I've never had to work with stairs and railings before. It does bother me though that there's so much empty wall space above them, but it would be impossible to try and hang up anything so high above!

Next to the stairs on the third floor I am beginning my "Tuff Turf" wall. The wall is slightly too small for the original plan I had, but I think it will look good once I get frames for my other Tuff Turf Posters.

Last, here's the start of a wall in my entertainment/guest room. I wanted these to go where my Tuff Tuf wall now is, but they were just a bit too big to all fit and ended up here. It's a sloped, raised ceiling so I decided to just line them up from the lowest point and go from there.

I still have so much free wall space to work with and so many different ways this can go. I have some ideas, but it will all depend on my budget. I am not sure how long I will stay in this apartment as I am looking into purchasing a home for myself later on down the line, but it feels good to have my posters up again.

Great to see so many posters up on display rather than in tubes. I reckon you'll have them on the ceiling again in the not too distant future!

Well done.  It's cool to see such a well curated framed exhibit.  My favorite is the bikini car wash staircase.

Wow, pretty impressive!!!!  It kind of reminds me of that guy Mel.  Also, I always thought that you were a lady collector, but now I'm not so sure given the amount of nudity on your walls.  I think it's cool, more so because my wife would kill me hahaha

Yeah similar to Mel's place in the sense of so many frames, however HM's is very concentrated on certain genres, the 80s, etc.  Both are cool, just different with one somewhat eclectic and one much more specific.  At first I also thought HM is a female, then I realized Heather Mason (aka HM) is a character from an 80s slasher game and film, and HM here is possibly a guy.  Always cool to see HM's collection here.

Whatever happened to Mel?  He was so active back in the day!

HM - Super envious of all your wall space and the fact that you can put so damn many posters up!  Super cool collection!

Who knows.  We communicated a bit after he left the forum, but it was a little strange and I stopped responding.  Never heard from him again.  I think he tried to join the forum, posted something and never posted again.  It's a little too much for me.
