Congrats, that's a fantastic pick up.  Always loved the various posters for that movie.

I got the German first release M (1931), which I've been after for a while. This one is the rarer version with the full credit, and only a handful of those posters have survived.  I love the stark simplicity of its powerful graphic image against the black background, it is particularly impressive in that size, which is larger than a US one-sheet.

I also won the 4D Man (1960) Italian 4F, with a lurid image that's much more fun than anything used for the US posters.

WOW!!!  A little speechless here.

In my book, one of the greatest movies of all time, if not THE greatest.  The first 10 minutes with the mom ironing clothes, calling Elsie, the clock on the wall, the little girl at school, the balloons...  I haven't seen it in years but it is stamped in my memory.  So good.  I so would want this poster.  My wife would kill me haha.  Maybe one day.  Congratulations.

I pale next to your winning.

Got two.  I had never seen this Gone with the Wind 3 sheet before, so I went for it after losing a bunch of other stuff.  A consolation price of sorts.  But I like it.

Antoine, you got the best poster in the entire auction, price aside. Thierry, I completely agree on M. SO incredibly powerful, from start to finish.
We (eMoviePoster.com) hold 3,000 to 4,000 auctions every four weeks.
We have auctioned more movie paper for more money (in real sales) than any auction in the world.
We have the longest continuously running auctions of any auction, with over 1,948,280 to date from over 3,306 consignors.

Thanks guys, I'm super happy with this pick up.  I agree with the praise for M, it's among my favorite films of all time.  I first saw it on French TV as a kid in the 1980s, and over the years I've been periodically rewatching it, each time amazed by how powerful and ahead of its time it was.  Peter Lorre's performance is truly unforgettable.

As a proto Film Noir, it fits nicely within the scope of my collection.  I actually own very few German posters, as I rarely see any that I like, but this one is obviously in a league of its own.   As I said, I've been looking for a copy for a while, and I still can't believe I got it at that price.

Thierry, out of curiosity, why do you say that your wife would kill you should you buy this poster?  Is it because of the dark subject matter, or the ominous image?  I like the Italian poster for Breathless that you got by the way.

Because I can’t spend too much.  She’s like a hawk that woman!!!  Apparently we have 3 college educations coming up and in the US, it’s probably more than my entire poster collection.  I have to find ways to embezzle so she doesn’t notice haha.  I’m exaggerating but not really.

Great pickups everyone.

T, you outbid me on that Gone With the Wind, I think it's still a bargain, but after getting the one-sheet and half sheet in the last two years, figured it was ok to not get that.  Besides, as soon as you realize it's on linen, you'll probably want to get rid of it anyways  :P

It’s on linen????  Damn, send me your address, it’s yours hahaha.  I think it’s a bargain too.  I didn’t have it on my list, and then it was there and I went for it because I had lost a bunch of stuff.  Glad I got it though.  It’s my first US poster on the title.

On a side note, I think I’m going to start signing a bunch of my posters, since obviously people don’t seem to care about authenticity (or even the purpose of buying a signed poster that was not even signed to them).  It is so beyond ridiculous.  I think I could make a fortune!!!  Sign baby, sign!

I just checked day 2 (which I didn't follow bc I was on vacation out of the country and... well, there are more important things than posters), and man, so many things went for super cheap.  Almost like if no one was looking.  Quite incredible actually.

Now I regret my set priorities.

PLEASE don't make the same mistake with my auction that starts the 23rd and ends April 13th. It is all in one part, and JUST FOR ONE, 40% of the auction is unbacked!

Does this mean other dealers should start posting their auction reminders in every Bruce thread? Ugh...

I don’t know who the other dealers are at this point.

Also Bruce exchanges views on top of promoting his shop.  I don’t see a problem with it, especially when it’s obviously a joke at my expense.
