Yeah, I forget what I bid on the one Bruce had, but it was 100-something.  I couldn't rebid because I was gone for a couple days.

Next one is mine, hands off.

Next one is mine, hands off.

There maybe a bit of healthy competition me thinks. ;D

I must start looking at Bruce's auctions again. $160 what a Bargain someone got.

Part of my next haul... once I agree on price :)  Grinsson's "And Now Miguel" (1966), "Foxfire" (1955) and "Queen Bee" (1955), Soubie's  "All the Fine Young Cannibals" (1960) and Mascii's "Petulia" (1968).

Amongst the greats, let's not forget Georges Kerfyser...

Still one of my favorite posters I own.

Maybe a favourite European poster, excluding British posters. Bit of a mouthful but you get the drift.

"I must start looking at Bruce's auctions again. $160 what a Bargain someone got."

People focus on our high results so much that they sometimes forget that we have lots of true bargains, and they are won by many people just like the collectors on this board.

If you solely follow our auctions to get great deals, you will get outbid 49 out of 50 times, but when you win, you win BIG!

Law of the Streets goes between $250 and $550 at French dealers.  It sold in March for $160 at Bruce's.  The other one, I don't really know.  I can't find it anywhere.

T

The only Law in the Streets I now found was a dealer charging $1200

Send the link T.

Bruce, the only reason I stopped looking at anything from the U.S. was the postage costs. And as most sellers won't send as a gift, and put $30 on the package. The import duty, v.a.t., and handling charges in this country are horrendous. A $100 poster can end up well over $150, even up to $180. 4 or 5 of those a month and you could of had a really nice high end poster.

So if I bought anything from the U.S. it had to be an absolute give away, and then with all charges on it was about the going price!

I did email yourself not long after you left Ebay, to see if you would do that with the customs form, and was told NO it was not worth taking the chance, and it would never be done! As a seller I don't blame you one bit, but as a buyer it's not for me. I do know several U.K. collectors who feel the same, and only buy from Europe. As T would say, "such is life".

I don't think its wrong morally myself, a few big stores in Australia are at the moment trying to get GST added to items under $1K imported. Screw them, they cant compete with overseas, even IF we add GST.
A DVD in Australia for $30 or one from Amazon for $8, even with postage AND if they Add 10% GST, still cheaper - if retailers here cant make a buck from that RETAIL then they are doing something wrong, but they get WHOLESALE.
I personally dont buy anything at the moment except things to keep me alive, BUT much as I like Australia, if its cheaper to buy OS and pay postage etc, I will still go OS, and so will anyone. STORES here need to realise that and stop charging so much.

SO sorry to go off tangent but I think sellers should mark AS GIFT/NO VALUE, so long as the buyer realises no insurance is covered.
Its as ridiculous as USA charging us Aussie $9 to send a parcel to your country, to pay your people to check it for bombs or arsenic or whatever they think. PAY IT YOUR SELF . Not me. OH wait I charge the customer, think anyone will pay $25 postage for a $10 poster? I dont. I dont blame them. But I cant cover the extra $9 fee in my postage for a $10 poster, and sadly I am usually a low end, el cheapo, seller.

Ahh well, it all sucks and we manage somehow.
Rant over, must be monday (wait it isnt yet), ahh well again.

Way to go Ari...

My point here is the U.K. government is Crap. if you aren't buying from this country, they will certainly make you pay for it!!

BTW, here is a pic of the initial poster I wondered about in this thread...all framed up in the Spotlight Display thread:
